My Client is an established Regional Contractor specialising in Civil Engineering and Residential Groundworks projects across the Midlands region and with continued growth are looking to recruit a Contracts Manager to strengthen their Operational Division. Reporting into the Operations Manager, candidates will be responsible for multiple Civil Engineering and Groundworks sites nationwide and take full responsibility for each project (packages include; bulk earthworks, deep drainage, enabling works, hard landscaping, foundations, infrastructure works, highways, Section 278 and 38 works, service installations, road construction and surfacing). Additional duties include: * Managing Project Teams and specific resourcing on each site with an emphasis on budget, Health & Safety and quality. * Ensuring safety and sustainability targets and standards are maintained. * Ensuring project plans and schedules are robust and optimise project resources and timescales and are communicated effectively to the Project Team. * Identifying and managing both Commercial and Business risks to achieve targets. * Managing any defects and post-completion issues to allow repeat business. * Understanding the relevant Contract terms and conditions for each project. * Managing the customer relationship during delivery, including change and decision making to effectively manage expectations. * Managing external parties to enable delivery driving value, customer focus and achievement of the project’s objectives. * Ensuring Company and Divisional procedures and policies are communicated and adhered to on each project. * Maintaining effective records for project delivery, reporting on; project progress, risks, issues and improvements to Senior Management. * Lead, manage and deliver operational excellence and efficiency. * Mentoring and training individuals to create high performing teams and a pipeline of future talent. * Effective management of labour, logistics and materials in agreement with budget and project programme. Successful candidates will possess: * Degree or equivalent (HNC/HND) in Construction Management. * Thorough knowledge of Civil Engineering and Groundworks sectors. * Previous experience working for a Regional Contractor in a similar role on projects valued up to £5m. * Proven track record of leading and motivating Project Teams. * Exceptional communication skills (both oral and written). * Strong commercial awareness. * IT proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word and Outlook). Experienced Renewable Contracts Manager Reports To: The Contract Manager will report to the Operations Manager and Operations Director. Job Overview: Responsibilities of the Contract Manager include control of the contract(s) ensuring Health and Safety, Environmental and Quality compliance is maintained and the Company's procedures and objectives are achieved. Experience in running Renewable Heating contracts preferred. Responsibilities and Duties: * Surveying properties. * Completing Work in progress, Quality Checks and Health and Safety Audits whilst engineers on site. Build and maintain relationships with client(s), tenants and external customers. Daily/weekly/monthly reporting to client(s). * Attend client contract meetings and report on progress to date. Adhere to all deadlines set and meet department objectives. Oversee Engineer workloads. Ensure targets are met. * Complete Risk Assessments and Method Statements for the work involved. Ensure installation paperwork is returned and checked, and any remedial works planned, completed etc. Hold Toolbox Talks with direct staff and subcontractors. * Ensure all engineer tools are PAT tested. Attend weekly office meetings (performance to KPIs). Complete ladder checks/tagging quarterly for direct staff and subcontractors. Face fit test engineers at induction and at 2 year intervals. Complete annual appraisals for the contract team. Liaise with administration team to ensure the smooth running of the contract. Investigate any complaints, ensuring the Company Complaint Procedure is followed. * Check engineer standards i.e. uniform, appearance etc. Check engineer understanding of Health, Safety and Environment responsibilities/duties and Company Procedures. Complete weekly vehicle and equipment check on own van/tools. * Complete van audits (all engineer vans checked monthly) ensuring they are clean and tidy, road worthy and the van information pack is present. Ensure six monthly eyesight checks for any members of the team that drive a company vehicle. * Act as first point of call for Contract team, including administration and engineers, for any complaints, grievances or issues they may have. Oversee call-out rota and sign off. Act as a point of escalation on call. Qualifications / Experience Full, clean Driving Licence. Renewable Qualifications Extensive experience of the industry An approachable and positive role-model to the team. Proactive with a can-do attitude, demonstrating the core values. Heating Installation Engineer Reports To: The Gas Installation Engineer will report to the Installations Manager. Responsible for: Apprentice Gas Engineer if allocated. Job Overview: To successfully perform domestic gas boiler installations and central heating system upgrades, ensuring all activities are completed safely, efficiently and to the customer’s satisfaction within the requirements of Gas Safety (Installation & Use) Regulations. Qualified and experienced to install Renewable alternatives such as Heat Pumps, Solar Thermal etc preferred but willing to train if not. Responsibilities and Duties: * To install, replace and upgrade boilers and central heating systems in customers properties.· * To ensure customer property is respected at all times and work is carried out in a clean and tidy manner, demonstrating a high level of customer service at all times.· * To ensure installations are completed within the agreed timescale and to company standards.· * To carry out workplace risk assessments before commencing work on site.· * To adhere to manufacturer’s instructions when installing and commissioning appliances.· * To issue notices and certificates required by the relevant regulations relating to gas safety.· * To complete all work in accordance with company procedure, best practice, industry standards and current legislation.· * To maintain van stock and manage stock from authorised suppliers, materials required to undertake works gained through the approved order system.· * To take part in the on call system as per the call out rota to provide 24/7 emergency cover across our property portfolio.· * To drive company vehicles in a safe and courteous manner and to ensure that the vehicle is maintained to appropriate standards.· * To complete weekly vehicle checks including tools, equipment and PPE.· To represent the company in a positive way to our customers and the general public.· * To complete all relevant training and certifications as required by regulations.· * To maintain regular contact with the Manager, administration personnel and colleagues to obtain instructions and resolve working problems.· * To document completed works and maintain an accurate record of work carried out including measurements and calculations.· * To report any accidents, incidents, dangerous occurrences or near misses in a timely manner as per company policy.· Any other reasonable duties.
