We have a fantastic opportunity for a permanent Facilities Team Leader to join our Ministry of Justice (MoJ) account in HMP Long Lartin, Shinehill Lane, South Littleton, Evesham WR11 8TZ, this role is based on-site.
There may be a need to work some weekends but this would be on a rota basis (and with an additional allowance of 15% of basic salary).

By using our facilities management expertise, we help keep 60 secure premises across England and Wales running smoothly.
Facilities Team Leader plays an important part in ensuring the planned and reactive maintenance work within the prisons is carried out in a safe, compliant and timely manner.
The standard hours of work are 39 hours per week (across 7 days where a weekend shift pattern is in place).

You will be responsible for:
Assist in and supervise the delivery of a range of facilities services to the prison in line with contractual commitments. Compliance focused.
Help to maintain standards as set out in the Service Level Agreement.
Communicate problems and concerns promptly through line management ensuring quick resolution.
Ensure the health, safety and security of staff, contractors, premises, and equipment by encouraging and monitoring best practices at all times.
Check and sign timesheets in accordance with procedures.
Ensure all requirements are met through liaising with HMPS management to receive and manage expectations.
This role will also support both local and business zero carbon programmes, working towards zero carbon in a strategic and lean manner as and where it is appropriate.
Responsible for ensuring H&S standards are achieved across the contract. What makes this role unique is you will ensure all compliance and safety in the establishment is met, building a strong relationship with the client. Prison Security Clearance will be required (Amey will support you through this process).
We want to hear from you if you have/are:
Previous experience of working within the Facilities/Estate management arena.
Facilities Management qualifications are advantageous.
Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and compliance.
IT Literate.
Team management, working on own initiative, understand deadlines and priority.
Management of engineers, dealing with customer and client. Ideally you will be qualified in IOSH with experience in Facilities Management.
In addition to this, it would be desirable if you have a calm attitude under pressure and experience in using Computer Aided Facilities Management (CAFM) systems to help you hit the ground running, although this is not essential as we will provide you with the required development you need to bring you up to speed.

Responding to breakdowns ensuring all works are carried out under the appropriate Safe System of Work and in a timely manner.
Actively fault finding / problem solving on domestic electrical systems across the prison.
Undertaking electrical installation activities in accordance with the design provided and IET Wiring Regulations.
Testing and inspecting electrical installations in accordance with the current IEE wiring regulations.
Monitoring and ordering critical spares for all electrical services.
This role will also support both local and business zero carbon programmes, working towards zero carbon in a strategic and lean manner as and where it is appropriate.
Responsible for ensuring H&S standards are achieved across the contract.What are we looking for?
Appropriate technical qualification eg City & Guilds 2365 parts 1-3, BTEC, NVQ level 3 or above
BS7671 IET Wiring Regulations, specifically 18th Edition*.

Experience of electrical maintenance activities, general distribution and installation and testing.
Knowledge and experience of Electrical Systems and Electricity at work Regulations.
Capable of working at heights.

What will the role involve?
Planned and preventative electrical maintenance.
Diagnosing and replacing failed domestic electrical components.

Undertaking electrical installation activities in accordance with the design provided and IET Wiring Regulations.

What is the purpose of this role?
The Street Works Inspector will carry out systematic and ad hoc site inspections, investigations and surveys of street works, road works and highway licences in relation to the New Roads and Street Works Act 1991 (NRSWA), the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the Traffic Management Act 2004 (TMA) and all other associated regulations and codes of practice relevant to highways legislation..
What will this role involve?
About you In this role you'll work as part of a small team of dedicated inspectors to ensure that the public highways in Sheffield are maintained in a safe condition for all users, which is our primary concern. The NRSWA Inspector duties will include:
Monitor and report on works on the highway by carrying out inspections under NRASWA, for which you will need the correct NRASWA Supervisor accreditation. This will include inspection of live works, reinstatements and ironwork.
Ensure that all works promoters comply with the "Specification for the Reinstatement of Openings in Highways".
Undertake permit compliance checks, collating information on breaches of H&S and poor workmanship as per the sample unit inspections.

What is the purpose of this role?
The Street Works Inspector will carry out systematic and ad hoc site inspections, investigations and surveys of street works, road works and highway licences in relation to the New Roads and Street Works Act 1991 (NRSWA), the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the Traffic Management Act 2004 (TMA) and all other associated regulations and codes of practice relevant to highways legislation..
What will this role involve?
About you In this role you'll work as part of a small team of dedicated inspectors to ensure that the public highways in Sheffield are maintained in a safe condition for all users, which is our primary concern. The NRSWA Inspector duties will include:
Monitor and report on works on the highway by carrying out inspections under NRASWA, for which you will need the correct NRASWA Supervisor accreditation. This will include inspection of live works, reinstatements and ironwork.
Ensure that all works promoters comply with the "Specification for the Reinstatement of Openings in Highways".
Undertake permit compliance checks, collating information on breaches of H&S and poor workmanship as per the sample unit inspections.
Record details of inspections carried out and maintain appropriate records to help ensure the recovery of relevant fees and charges, including NRASWA inspections
Gather and produce evidence to support and enforce breaches in highway legislation or health & safety.

That routine customer enquiries have been addressed, including liaison with the public or other highway stakeholders and issuing standard letters as appropriate
Pro-active co-ordination of all activities on the highway network;
To check, review and approve applications for permits and licences;
The appropriate use of enforcement techniques, if necessary leading to the serving of notices and formally representing SCC;
Adherence to appropriate parts of the Highways Act 1980, New Roads and Street
Works Act 1991 (as amended by the TMA 2004) and Traffic Management Act 2004 (and any other legislation) in relation to highway control processes (e.g. TTRO'S, temporary traffic controls, skips, scaffolds, defects, overrun charging, FPN's, etc.) and implementing the application of these statutory duties.
Quality of statutory undertaker's reinstatements, or other such street furniture, meet the national requirements of the specification, regulations and guidance;
Liaison and dialogue with the public or other highway stakeholders with regard to highway activities whether licensed or unlicensed;
That the highway is kept free from obstructions, including the need to issue standard letters to secure their timely removal;
A close working relationship with Network Co-ordinators to focus resources on the areas where disruption is more likely;
The effective use of validations, inspections, sanctions and charges to assist in the overall administration, inspection and enforcement of controls on the highway network;
That routine customer enquiries have been addressed, including liaison with the public or other highway stakeholders and issuing standard letters as appropriate;
Also to ensure close co-operation with the Operations/other service delivery teams in respect of safety and non-safety related defects are identified, reported and repaired in a timely fashion
