The Role To carry out day to day maintenance on the fabric of the building, its services and grounds in order to ensure that the Care Home is maintained in a safe and efficient functional order. Monitor delivered goods closely. Health & Safety: Ensure that paints and varnishes are used and stored only in accordance with manufacturers' instructions. Ensure areas in which any painting / varnishing work is being done is well ventilated and safe for Clients, Visitors and Staff Members. Report immediately to the Home Manager, or Person in Charge, any illness of an infectious nature or accident incurred by a Client, colleague, self or another. Understand and ensure the implementation of the Care Home's Health and Safety policy, and Emergency and Fire procedures. Promote safe working practice in the Care Home. Be 'on-call' for advice / action in any emergencies which may arise out of hours. They work nationally with some of the country's leading construction, civil engineering and house building companies, civil infrastructure planning and ecological consultancies, wildlife bodies and environmental agencies. Following continued success, they now are looking to add Supervisory support to their teams. They are looking to immediately appoint two working Site Supervisor positions and the successful candidates will need to have specific knowledge, experience and qualifications in the forestry, fencing and landscaping sectors of the construction industry. The appointed candidates will motivate and lead their teams, drive performance and quality standards throughout, respond to client requirements and needs, and ensure the service is delivered in a planned and coordinated manner. A proven track record along with experience and knowledge of delivering in the sectors detailed above is essential for these posts. The successful candidate must hold a valid Driving Licence (including trailer entitlement) and should preferably join the team with a range of valid sector specific tickets including; CSCS, SSSSTS, CPCS, NPORS, NPTC, PTS, FISS, FMO.. Candidates must be able to demonstrate a high degree of practical knowledge and skill across the range of company operations including the erection of fencing, environmental and commercial landscaping, and forestry operations. Successful candidates will preferably be competent and have experience in the following areas:- FENCING Stock fencing, Post and Line Wire, Post and Rail, Chain Link, Palisade, Chain saws, Mechanical equipment (tracked post knockers, tractors, telehandlers, 3t - 20t excavators).Knowledge of machinery maintenance and repair of machinery worked on is also preferred. Experience in the following areas would be a distinct advantage:- Mechanical equipment chippers (hand or crane), forwarder, tractors, telehandlers 3-20t Excavators and forestry attachments e.g. tree shears, grapples, saw grabs, mulchers and flails Strimmers/brush cutters Chainsaws (NPTC certificates Tree surgery (with qualifications) Herbicide application (knapsack or machine mounted) with NPTC certificate Knowledge of machinery maintenance and repair of machinery worked on is also preferred. Successful candidates must be able to work within and motivate a team and communicate effectively with other members of staff at all levels in what is a physically demanding role. Candidates should be able to lead by example whilst using experience, skill and initiative to achieve excellent project outcomes. Candidates will be expected to maintain on-site Health, Safety and Machinery Inspection documentation at all times and therefore must be able to demonstrate good written communication and have previous experience of maintaining site records. Excellent people-management skills are needed along with good land based sector qualifications and considerable experience of working within a similar role. At times candidates will be expected to work a minimum 50% away (occasionally at short notice) and at night in all regions of the UK (excluding Northern Ireland).During times away, an additional allowance is paid Candidates should be within commuting distance of Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire and when working away, (during the current corona virus restrictions) must be prepared to use their own vehicle for which agreed mileage would be paid.
