Job Overview:
Due to recent contract wins we are looking to add to our team of Commercial Heating Engineers. You'll be working in planned and reactive maintenance within commercial properties such as Schools, Fire Stations & Residential Properties.
Your industry knowledge and skills as an engineer will enable you to diagnose and repair a range of issues. You'll also be able to identify and manage unsafe situations taking necessary precautions/actions to make safe or complete any remedial works in line with approved industry procedures.
Main duties and Responsibilities:
* As a key member of our team you will work mainly alone using your own initiative and will have a proactive approach to undertake all tasks required. You will have extensive experience and be competent in Commercial heating & hot water systems, their operation & individual components.
* Working knowledge & experience of different pipework and jointing (including but not limited to – soldered, screwed & crimped methods).
* To be able to demonstrate and have good general fault finding/diagnostic skills and the ability to carry out necessary repairs/replacement of Commercial Heating & HW equipment. i.e. Boilers, Pumps, Valves, Vessels, Pipework, Heat emitters etc.
* To ensure that all work carried out complies with the relevant sections of the ‘Health and Safety at Work Act’ (risk assessment, asbestos awareness etc.)
* Installation of new boiler systems, Installation of new gas central heating systems (Combi, system and regular)
* Unvented cylinder installations and maintenance, Oil tank installations and maintenance.
* Timely completion of reactive and planned works carried out to agreed standards, achievement of first fix and maximising equipment uptime.
* To carry out on a rota basis (as required) out-of-hours emergency call outs
* You will be professional, organised, methodical, customer service driven, a good communicator and be tech savvy as we transition to an electronic reporting system. Our business is built on professional workmanship, very high standards of customer service and customer retention.
What are we looking for?
* Current full UK driving licence
* Good general numeracy and literacy
* Good time management
* Be self-motivated with a positive attitude
* 2-3 years' Commercial Heating experience (minimum)
* Have knowledge of the Risk Assessment process
* Be a team player
Desirable Qualifications/Skills
* A relevant City and Guilds Level 3 Qualification (desirable)
* Commercial/Domestic Gas Qualification
