We are recruiting for an experienced Estimator for one of our clients in the structural steel structure sector based in East Yorkshire and due to continued growth they are looking to recruit an additional Estimator. Working for a market leader the successful Estimator will be responsible for preparing competitive tenders and estimates for various building projects, in doing this you will consider different factors like quality assurance, materials, transportation, fabrication and labour costs to name just a few. You will be responsible for pricing all activities, tender adjudication, document submission and meeting with clients. As part of the company's growth strategy, they require an additional Estimator to complement their Sales/Commercial team at one of their offices in North Yorkshire. The Estimator Vacancy Key Responsibilities: You will be a key part in the winning of new business, working closely with other departments including design, construction, sales, and contracts to provide the client with the most cost-effective tender information. You will also be involved in preparing and delivering presentations to prospective customers and reviewing contract terms to existing clients. This is a position where as Estimator you are growing and maintaining relationships both internally within the company and in the wider construction market. To be successful in this Estimator role you will have at least GCSE grade C or above in English, Maths and Science, also a minimum of a HNC in construction or a commercial qualification would be preferred but not essential. It is essential that applicants come from a position with at least 3 years of estimating or quantity surveying prior to this. Working for a market leader the successful Estimator will be involved in the design manufacture and installation of steel framed modular equipment rooms and housings to protect critical systems equipment. Our client supply to a wide range of end users in a variety of sectors including Nuclear, Power, Oil, Gas and Rail sectors. As part of the company's growth strategy, they require an additional Estimator to complement their Sales/Commercial team at one of their offices in North Yorkshire. As Estimator. experience of modular or portable buildings would be advantageous but is not essential. Due to continued robust growth, they are now looking to recruit a Construction Site Manager to take responsibility for a school demolotion and development in the Birmingham, West Midlands area. Reporting to the Contract Manager you will take responsibility for the organisation of resources and direction of employees and sub-contractors on site, from the commercial teams procurement, to achieve successful project completion, whilst complying with the terms of the contract, Health Safety policy and procedures, to ensure the project is completed to the desired outcomes. The project is due to commence on the 20th July, for circa 3 to 6 months. The ideal applicant will reside close to the Birmingham area. In return the Construction Site Manager position offers a pro-rata salary £45- £50,000 per annum, plus Company car and fuel card, Pension Company Laptop and phone. Reporting to the Head of Design you will be responsible for taking turnkey projects from tender stage through to contract close, completing all paperwork and being the key liaison for the client and the consultants working on a range of Construction projects. Typical job duties involve: Evaluating the feasibility study, developing the contractor's proposals through draft and into full and final contract close where the project is handed over to the construction team. Evaluating all documentation associated with a project and preparing the necessary scoping and tracking documents to manage the project to a successful conclusion. As pre-construction manager you will engage the design team, specialist consultants and supply chain, developing the required surveys and be adept at managing the design of a project to budget, whilst ensuring the technical requirements of the contract are met. As pre-construction project manager you will also be the risk owner for the project and as such will be responsible for maintaining the risk register. You will also be required to prepare and present effective reports on a business need basis, including budgeting. As pre-construction manager / Project Manager you will be responsible for overseeing several projects at once.
