Job Summary Electric Network Design Engineer required to work within the design team working directly under the guidance of and reporting to the Design Manager. The ideal candidate will have strong electrical design awareness and be able to demonstrate previous experience within the utility industry. Main Activities & Duties 1. Undertaking outline designs for tendering purposes 2. Detailed designs for LV and HV distribution networks for domestic, commercial and industrial developments 3. Provide technical support for business departments 4. Review external design elements 5. Offer full design support to tendering and construction teams and clients 6. Mentor, coach and guide trainee engineers Qualifications & Skills Essential * Suitable engineering qualification (Degree/HND or equivalent) * Experience in designing/planning LV and HV electrical utility infrastructure and substation design * Knowledge of technical specifications of equipment, substations, cables and plant * Knowledge of DNO/IDNO network construction including a knowledge of G81 documents * Understanding of the current NERS requirements * Understanding of CDM Regulations and N.R.S.W.A * Understanding of ISO09001, ISO14001 & ISO(phone number removed) * IT Literate * A team player with the ability to work independently * Excellent communication skills * Client focused bringing new ideas, commitment and enthusiasm Desirable * Experience of multi utilities * Good knowledge of Microsoft Office

Planner Client My Client is a principle contracting company who undertake Civil Engineering projects across the UK. This outstanding organisation is currently engaged in multiple defence projects based in Glasgow and are looking for and Planner to join the project team. Job requirements As a Planner you will be responsible for: * Confirm Tender programme viability with key subcontractors * Produce design, work package, procurement and statutory approvals programmes. * Develop previous Tender Programme to Contract Status, incl. Full Critical Path Analysis in conjunction with Construction Team. * Monthly progress monitoring through utilising company progress tracker spreadsheet and providing dropline programmes for Project Progress Meetings, including ad hoc site visits to ensure accuracy of progress recorded. * Produce labour histograms based on Tender/Contract programme on trade by trade basis, leading to full project labour histogram. * Create extract programmes for site/subcontractor use on a trade by trade basis. * Attend site as required to produce short term look ahead and target programmes * Monthly update of ‘Live Projects Contract Durations’ programme to coincide with Board Reports. * Interrogate monthly progress records and compile As Built programmes enabling ‘lessons learnt analysis’. * Where necessary, produce extension of time programmes based on delay event(s), using site records and progress reports, which will include rescheduling the programme to show the impact of each event culminating in an overall delay event * In the event of a dispute, you will be required to produce programmes for use in the adjudication process. This will include, but not be limited to, analysing individual delay events which will encompass rescheduling the programme to show the impact of each event culminating in an overall delay event. They are currently growing year on year in the UK and have recently experienced a significant upturn in project work. As a result of increased workload and significant project wins, they are looking to hire an experienced Quantity Surveyor to assist with the delivery of a major defense project. The Role There will be multiple projects running simultaneously each with a value between £5m and £50m with multiple phases. The role will report directly to the MQS and Commercial Manager and will support the business on all Commercial activities across the projects in the South. Responsibilities are: Ensure that all contractual obligations are met, and commercial performance is maximised. Have input into estimates for materials, time and labour costs. Prepare, negotiate and analyse costs. Preparing cost budgets and prices for contract variations; Preparing order documentation; Evaluating/selecting subcontract tenders; Setting up and maintaining contract files Manage commercial risks across multiple departments. Monitor subcontractor’s performance and spend. Although this role is primarily office based, this position is covering a vast range of projects throughout the North of England and potentially some of Scotland, so visits to site frequently will be required. The successful candidate can expect to be traveling two or three days per week. The Candidate Will have previous experience in similar role. They will have strong experience in large Civils or Marine projects and be comfortable working on multiple projects typically ranging in value of £5m to £50m. SC Clearance for MOD The Quantity Surveyor will also have knowledge of a variety of contract suites, ICE, JCT, ECC and NEC3 and potentially NEC4. The candidate will able to work independently and be able to understand and influence the commercial performance of the projects. They will fully understand contractual obligations across multiple projects, in particular NEC3 Option. Will be comfortable working independently and with multiple senior managers across departments and locations. Will be comfortable with signification interaction with the client
