Planning Recruitment are currently supporting a specialist Conservation and Heritage practice in London who are looking to welcome an experienced Architect to their team. They are looking for an experienced ARB and RIBA registered Architect with extensive experience working on heritage/conservation projects in the UK. Your role will involve leading and managing the design and delivery of projects as well as obtaining necessary project approvals. You will also be responsible for providing heritage guidance, researching, and assessing buildings within historic environments and contributing to various conservation/heritage specific reports. The ideal candidate must be able to demonstrate experience working across all RIBA Plan of Work stages, have a good working knowledge of tender processes and an ability to lead and guide more junior members of staff. You must also be able to manage and oversee work produced by other employees and external consultants. In relation to the conservation/heritage experience needed for the role, you must have a sound working knowledge of planning and listed building practice, the roles of heritage consultees and current heritage legislation. The ideal candidate will possess conservation accreditation through AABC or a similar conservation accreditation. Examples of other accepted accreditations are RIBA Conservation Architect and RIBA Specialist Conservation Architect. Overseas accreditations will also be considered. The practice is working on residential, commercial and ecclesiastical projects, so experience in these sectors is advantageous. You must also be proficient with AutoCAD, SketchUp and NBS. Finally, you will have experience in contract management and project finances. Your role will see you reporting into the Partner of Architecture as you take responsibility for running a number of projects within the Education and Residential sectors with minimal supervision. Although the practice have a strong portfolio of clients within the Education and Residential sectors, the practice have also completed projects in the Commercial, Community and Leisure sectors. The right candidate will be able to demonstrate strong experience leading projects independently across all RIBA Plan of Work stages, including experience dealing with contractors on-site to identify and solve construction issues. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate a strong portfolio of experience working on Education and Residential projects, however those without this experience may still be considered. You must be confident in dealing directly with clients, contractors, and external consultants. The practice are currently working in Revit and AutoCAD, so proficiency in both programmes is essential. Our client, an AJ100 Architectural Practice are looking to expand their West Sussex studio. Due to a number of residential and mixed-use schemes moving into construction, our client needs someone to prepare construction packages while leading the project team to deliver the schemes. Ideally, our client is looking to appoint an MCIAT Technologist, however they will consider an experienced Architectural Technician. Due to the successful planning of two large mixed-use schemes, the Director is looking for a Project Architect or Senior Architectural Technician / Technologist to help support him with the leadership & management of the project. The successful candidate will have:- * 5-10 years’ PQE * A proven track record of delivering projects in-excess of £20m, * Client Liaison with experience of managing contractors & consultants. * People abilities – leading 3+ team members * Hands on proficient Revit abilities are essential. * Able to demonstrate knowledge of SFS.
