A fantastic opportunity has arisen for my client who are a rapidly expanding timber frame manufacture with our headquarters based in wales. Their highly experienced, growing workforce can ‘Design, Supply and Erect’ your timber frame – home, apartment block, retail outlet or education establishment, on time, on budget and of the highest quality standard. Starting as a purpose made joinery solutions, they now design, manufacture and innovate timber frame components for large national homebuilders, contractors, and housing associations across the United Kingdom. With the construction industry constantly changing to incorporate more environmentally friendly practices, the sustainability of products and more time and cost reducing methods, my client are always researching, developing, and adapting to meet these demands.
Due to continued expansion they are now looking an experienced timber frame designer designer to join our busy design team along with another senior. You will be working closely with the existing design and production team and reporting to the managers and operations director.
Responsibility & Duties
* Understand the project brief and pre-design information provided by the senior designer, along with your specified role within the overall design process and take ownership of this role
* Attend internal meetings with estimator, production manager, contracts manager and project planning
* Responsibility for gathering pre-design requirements/information and requesting any outstanding information which may impact time frame design and building regulations, design software, material specification, technical resources (STA downloads, Trada and Robust details etc…), engineer calculations, fire engineers report in line with site safe protocol.
* Produce and check drawings in line with programme dates
* As the work progresses, clarify any uncertainties or discrepancies with senior designer, estimator, and the customer
* Design panel drawings, taking into consideration all information gathered including any measurements from the fire report
Experience & Qualification
* Hold a relevant architectural qualification (Degree, HNC, HND)
* A minimum of two years practical experience in a similar role, preferably within a UK based firm, but outside will be considered
* Experience designing Roofs, Trusses, joists, modular construction, panels advantageous
* Experience of using REVIT would be useful
* Software’s like HSBC CAD, Mi Tek Wood Engine, highly advantageous
* Good working knowledge of current UK building regulations
* Timber frame knowledge is preferred

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for one of our clients who are a well - established company with offices and well-equipped workshop based in Surrey. They specialise in the design and manufacture of bespoke furniture, commercial fit-out and interior solutions. We work with both the commercial and private sectors. My client will also discuss ideas and requirements at an initial consultation. Then a designer will present detailed drawings of their proposals for your project. Once both parties have agreed on the design, the furniture will be manufactured in their highly equipped on site workshop by skilled cabinet makers.
Due to continued expansion they are now looking for an experienced Joinery CAD Draughtsman who is proficient in Autodesk Inventor as this is the licence set up within the business but if you have experience in another parametric modelling software and are able to transition over this would also be considered.
Responsibility & Duties
* Create clear presentation and shop drawings for production including drawing schedules
* Work well under pressure
* Liaise with clients/designers to extract correct requirements prior to design
* Assist with cutting lists for production
* Liaise with onsite manufacturing workshop to check production
Experience & Qualification
* Understanding of commercial joinery construction and materials
* Cabinetry joinery background
* Experience within the Fit -Out industry advantageous
* Experience of AutoCAD & Autodesk Inventor essential
* If you have a background in Solidworks, CREO or Pro E or any other parametric modelling software and feel you would be able to transition over to Inventor this would be considered
