Have you ever solved a Rubik’s Cube? When I was about 14 I completed two-sides, celebrated like I’d won the FA Cup, continued to try and finish it, messed it up, got pissed off and ripped all the stickers off and stuck them back on to make it look like I’d completed it. But there are people out there who can do it, no dramas. Better yet, there are people out there who can do 3 of them, whilst juggling, in less than 5 and a half minutes. We call those people Project Managers. And Project Managers in the dry-lining industry are hard to come by. But they’re well rewarded, by a business I’m working around London, anyway. You'll be looking at a salary of up to £60k, plus various bits and pieces. There are big projects on offer, a company culture that promotes forward thinking and opportunities to move onwards and upwards. Apply and I'll be in touch

Getting stuck in. A phrase which in this case means getting out to site, measuring up, meeting with the gangs, sorting out the payments. The love of getting stuck in can sometimes be lost when you've been surveying for a while, and sitting in a nice cosy office sounds much better. And if it has, that's fine, but this job isn't for you. You're going to be a hands-on QS. You'll be working projects up in Leeds initially but this contractors catchment are is anywhere from Coventry to Leeds and back down to the East Midlands. You'll be looking at anywhere up to £50k, but that is entirely based on where and what you've been doing, as always. The client themselves turnover in the region of £7m and are growing, nice and organically. Give me a shout if you want to find out who they are

Can you juggle? And I mean properly juggle, with more than 2 balls? No, me neither, it’s solid, but there are people out there that can. They can juggle 3 balls, a banana, 2 garden chairs, a copy of Good Housekeeping and a chainsaw, all whilst riding a unicycle, blindfolded, on a tightrope, all with one hand tied behind their back. We call these people Contracts Managers. Unlike most traditional jugglers though, this particularly rare species juggle multiple dry-lining projects, worth anywhere up to £5m. Covering the entire Anglian region, they’ll need to be based there, or thereabouts. You’re looking at a salary up to around £55k, plus package. Worth thinking about? Apply for the role and I’ll be in touch with some of the finer details

Good site managers are hard to come by. Particularly those that have worked with subcontractors before. Balancing keeping the guys on site happy along with making sure the MC is also happy can be tough, which is why they're hard to come by. Your experience is needed though, for a drylining subcontractor based in Birmingham. They know how tough it can be, so they pay well and make sure you feel appreciated. They're operating across the West Midlands so would need someone fairly local. If you want to find out more information then apply for the role and I'll be in touch

Commercial staff's stock has gone through the roof. Subcontractors in the dry-lining industry are starting to see the value in Estimators. It's a shame that it's taken a global pandemic to get us there, but hey, progress is progress. Luckily, a firm in the West Midlands have held this appreciation of their commercial staff for sometime now. Meaning that their paying up to £50k, offering flexibility on start and finish times as well as making sure their input on projects in valued. And luckily for you, they're hiring. Tendering, winning and completing multi-million-pound projects is no easy feat, but it's much easier when you've got a team around you that support and appreciate what you bring to the table. Apply for the job and I'll be in touch with more info

No job too big or too small.” The slogan for 99% of all decent removal companies. It’s also the way of thinking for businesses that operate in particularly niche areas of construction. Picking up passive fire protection packages of £3.5m whilst also knocking out a £90k job in 2 weeks, that’s standard, for this particular company. So, if you’re someone who wants to make the step up from Project Manager into Contracts Manager, there’s no better way to do that, than with one main focus with some smaller projects to give you the multi-site experience. And that is exactly what this contractor is offering you, the chance to move from a PM role into a CM role, with guidance, support and gradual increase in responsibility. It’s going to be self-employed for the first 6 months, so you’ll get various tax benefits until, both you and they, are happy to go ahead and sign the paper for a permanent contract. Telephone interviews are going ahead and zoom calls from there. Nothing is going to start until all this hullabaloo settles down but don’t wait to get your irons in the proverbial fire. Apply for the role and I'll be in touch to run you through some of the finer details
