Your new role as Senior Civil Engineer Working closely with the local Associate Director and Office Lead, you will lead the delivery of technically robust, planning-sensitive civil engineering solutions across a broad portfolio of residential, commercial, and industrial developments. You'll be responsible for guiding projects through every stage-from early concept and technical approvals right through to construction support. What you'll need to succeed as a Senior Civil Engineer To be considered, you should have: A degree in Civil Engineering Chartered status or actively working towards chartership (ICE / Engineers Ireland) Proven consultancy experience delivering infrastructure and development-led design projects Strong understanding of NI planning processes, DfI Roads standards, and NI Water approvals Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and MicroDrainage (or Causeway Flow) Excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise effectively with statutory bodies and stakeholders Experience in flood risk assessments, drainage strategies, SuDS design, Private Street Determinations, or Article 161 applications will be particularly advantageous. Overview Structural Engineer Belfast Vickerstock are working with an international, multi-disciplinary design consultancy to support in the recruitment of an experienced Structural Engineer to join their Belfast office. Employing more than 1000 engineers from 20+ offices worldwide, this business prides themselves on their collaborative approach to delivering creative and effective engineering solutions to complex challenges while keeping an emphasis on sustainability. Responsibilities You will work closely with the local lead for Civil & Structural Engineering to support in project delivery including the preparation of structural analysis models, detailed structural calculations, sketches and specifications. Qualifications Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (MEng preferred); A strong understanding of structural analysis, finite element modelling and structural design; You'll have a strong knowledge of at least one prominent structural analysis software; Actively working towards Chartership; What's in it for you? Senior Civil Engineer - Water / Wastewater Belfast Vickerstock are proud to be representing a globally recognised engineering consultancy renowned for delivering some of the most complex and high-impact infrastructure programmes across the UK, Ireland and internationally. With a strong legacy in the water, environmental and energy sectors, this organisation is now expanding its Belfast presence and seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to support major water and wastewater frameworks while helping shape and grow the local team. Your new role as Senior Civil Engineer In this role, you will take a lead in the technical delivery of civil engineering designs for water and wastewater projects, from early feasibility through to detailed design and construction support. Alongside technical leadership, you will play an active role in mentoring junior engineers and contributing to the growth of the Belfast office. Delivering civil design solutions for water and wastewater treatment, storage, pumping and pipeline infrastructure Producing and reviewing technical reports, drawings, calculations and specifications Leading elements of project delivery, ensuring designs meet industry standards and client expectations Working closely with NI Water account leads and resource managers to build capability within the team Engaging with clients, contractors, regulatory bodies and multidisciplinary teams Supporting sustainability and low-carbon design initiatives within project solutions What you will need to succeed as Senior Civil Engineer Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline Chartered Engineer status (ICE or equivalent) Demonstrable experience delivering water or wastewater infrastructure projects in a consultancy environment Strong technical capability in drainage, hydraulics, pipeline or treatment infrastructure design Experience managing or mentoring junior engineers Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills What's in it for you?
