Senior Quantity Surveyor required for an independent construction business, a relative new comer, with large and hugely varied portfolio of clients and schemes - operating almost exclusively in the local area. Responsibilities As a Senior Quantity Surveyor you'll be working within a team of 8 Surveyors of differeing levels supporting this regional business. Projects include commercial & industrial projects up to £5m. Your day to day will include: Provide commercial input including financial and contractual performance forecasts to the management team. Preparation of monthly cost / value reports, together with review of results and consideration of trends with other contract team members. Production of commercial reports together with review of results and consideration of trends with other contract team members. Physical measurement of works and agreement of same with client and subcontractors Agreement of certification and payment of subcontractor accounts - monitoring of such accounts against forecasts. To consider value engineered opportunities and seek the best value and innovative alternative solutions, sub-contractors, materials, methods, etc to gain competitive advantages for their offer. To produce detailed, accurate and competitive design and construction programmes for the civils and building elements of their bids. To produce detailed and accurate activity schedules for inclusion in their proposals. To promote active engagement with current and potential supply chain members to improve relationships (and hence bid input) at the pre-construction stage. To prepare accurate CE s, for review by the Bid Manager.
