I am currently recruiting for an estimator to join a privately owned contractor who turnover 65million. This is covered by a number of profitable workstreams, with this particular role being within the Building & Refurbishment division. Projects are generally valued from 5k through to 1.5million and include on-going contracts with high profile establishments within Southampton. They have longstanding relationships with many Tier 1 contracts as well as local schools and universities, with these relationships continuing through the supply chain. THE ROLE: Estimator Provide estimated costs of proposed projects and survey/cost completed works. Undertake site visits and surveys. Liaise with department staff, client, sub-contractors, suppliers and statutory authorities in matters relating to work as appropriate. Prepare initial Project Plan. Produce financial milestone payment plan, monitor and control project finance. Appoint contractors and assist in ordering of materials. Liaise with specialists and consultants as appropriate to obtain assistance and advice. Attend project start up meetings. This would need to be viewed as a long term role, the person leaving has been with the company for many years and is now retiring.

Preparation of monthly financial reports comprising cost value reconciliation's, assessment of value adjustments, cost accruals, subcontract liabilities, materials reconciliation, cost checks etc Identification and management of project risk and opportunities Maintenance of master contract folders Procurement of subcontractor elements of work Supervision, guidance and assistance with the development and of Junior Quantity Surveyors. I am currently recruiting for an experienced and hands on Contracts Manager for a main contractor based in Bournemouth. They turnover IRO 17.5million with projects ranging from vehicle retail (new build & refurbishment), Healthcare and Commercial, with projects valued to 6million. At present, alongside the current Contracts Manager, the Managing Director is involved with overseeing contracts and is now looking to concentrating on other areas of the business. You will be overseeing 2/3 projects at any one time, all with an experienced standalone Project Manager based on each. They have a firm client base of repeat work and full order book for 2026.
