Experienced Gardener Permanent Position Excellent Salary (DOE) Newton Ferrers An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and enthusiastic Gardener to join a small, dedicated team on a beautiful private estate in Newton Ferrers. This is a varied, hands-on role ideally suited to someone with a strong horticultural background and a genuine passion for gardening and grounds maintenance. You will play a key role in maintaining and developing the estate's gardens and grounds, helping to ensure they are presented to the highest standard throughout the year. In addition to gardening duties, you'll assist with general estate maintenance and the care of a small collection of animals. We are seeking someone who is practical, adaptable, and happy to take on a variety of responsibilities as required. Key Responsibilities Carrying out day-to-day garden maintenance, including planting, propagation, weeding, pruning, watering, and general horticultural tasks Maintaining gardens and grounds using a range of equipment, including strimmers, hedge cutters, and ride-on mowers Assisting with seasonal planting programmes and the ongoing development and improvement of the estate grounds Undertaking general estate duties, including fencing repairs, maintenance work, and seasonal projects Supporting the care and wellbeing of a small collection of animals About You Previous experience in gardening, horticulture, grounds maintenance, private estates, or a similar environment Confident using a variety of outdoor power tools and machinery Flexible, practical, and willing to assist with a broad range of tasks throughout the year Able to work effectively as part of a small team while also managing tasks independently Chainsaw certification and horticultural qualifications would be advantageous Full UK driving licence essential due to the location of the estate Working Hours Monday to Friday , with 1 in 3 Saturdays required (a day off in lieu will be provided).
