The Role We are seeking a few dedicated and practical Maintenance Officers to join our Estates and Facilities department, supporting the safe, efficient and effective operation of the College across our sites. This role has 3 available posts, for 3 successful candidates. The successful candidates will play an important role in maintaining College buildings, facilities, grounds, equipment and communal areas to a high standard. Working closely with the Facilities Supervisor and wider Estates team, you will undertake general repairs, routine inspections, compliance checks, portering and site support, while responding professionally to maintenance issues and incidents. The ideal candidates will: Carry out general repairs and maintenance to fixtures, fittings, furniture and equipment, including the safe use of hand and power tools. Undertake minor redecoration and general caretaking duties as required. Carry out regular checks of College buildings, grounds, toilets and communal areas, ensuring facilities remain safe and operational. Undertake and accurately record routine compliance checks, including fire alarms, water systems and emergency lighting. Identify hazards, defects and maintenance issues and promptly report or escalate concerns to the Facilities Supervisor. Receive and safely transport deliveries, equipment and materials between College sites as required. Support the clearance and removal of waste and recycling across College facilities. Monitor consumable stock levels and request replenishment of supplies when required. Support the Estates team in responding to incidents, emergencies and business continuity situations in accordance with College procedures. Work collaboratively with the Security team, cleaning contractors and wider Estates team to maintain a safe, clean and welcoming College environment. Maintain accurate facilities, asset and property records and ensure routine checks and maintenance activities are properly recorded. Provide a helpful, professional and responsive service to staff, learners, contractors and visitors. Undertake driving duties between College sites and maintain the cleanliness of College vehicles as required. Promote and maintain high standards of health and safety and comply with all relevant College policies and procedures. Undertake other duties commensurate with the responsibilities of the post. The Role We are seeking an experienced and strategic Head of Estates to join our Estates department, providing leadership across the College's buildings, facilities and estate services. This is a key leadership role with responsibility for ensuring that our estate is safe, compliant, well maintained, sustainable and fit for purpose. Working closely with the Director of Estates & Infrastructure, you will lead the effective delivery of estates services across all College sites, overseeing maintenance, security, cleaning, waste, statutory compliance, building safety and estate improvement programmes.
