An established UK specialist interiors/retrofit contractor is looking for a technically expert and commercially astute Pre-Construction Director to lead their project lifecycle from initial client technical consultation, project inception, design, quotation, and finally, handover to the Project Delivery team for project commencement on site. This is a senior leadership role requiring exceptional client relationship skills, commercial insight, and the ability to bridge strategy and delivery. What you'll do: Lead the pre-construction phase for specialist interior/retrofit projects over £100k value. Act as the primary client contact post-contract, managing strategic relationships and high-stakes discussions up to the project delivery phase. Approve project scope, commercial strategies, and governance processes. Protect and grow margins through proactive risk management and commercial foresight. Oversee smooth handovers to delivery teams, ensuring scope, cost, and timelines are aligned. What you'll bring: Proven senior experience in pre-construction management, with proven technical and commercial proficiency. A background in tier 1 construction, interiors/fit-out/retrofit, or hard FM/M&E contracting. Strong commercial and strategic planning skills. We are seeking an experienced Health & Safety Officer to support our construction operations across multiple live sites. The role is primarily site-based across the midlands but with at least a day in the office per week also, and involves working closely with site supervisors and subcontractors to ensure all works are carried out safely, compliantly, and in line with current UK health and safety legislation. The successful candidate will be proactive, practical, and confident in advising site teams, while also maintaining strong documentation and compliance standards. Key Responsibilities Site Safety & Compliance Conduct regular site inspections and audits across multiple projects. Ensure compliance with CDM Regulations 2015, HSE guidance, and company procedures. Identify hazards, assess risks, and ensure suitable control measures are in place. Support site supervisors in implementing safe systems of work. Support to Site Supervisors Provide hands-on health and safety guidance to site supervisors and operatives. Assist supervisors with risk assessments, method statements (RAMS), and permits. Act as a point of contact for safety queries from site teams. Promote a positive safety-first culture on all sites. Documentation & Reporting Review, create, and update: Risk Assessments Method Statements COSHH assessments Toolbox talks Maintain accurate site safety records. Investigate incidents, near misses, and accidents, producing clear reports and recommendations. Liaise with management on trends, improvements, and compliance issues. Health & Safety Advisor (Contract) - URGENT Port of Nigg, near Inverness (Accommodation Provided) Circa £450 per day 6-9 Month Contract Start Date: March 2026 An urgent requirement has arisen for an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to join a major industrial installation project at a manufacturing facility in the North of Scotland. This is a high-profile, fast-paced construction environment, working alongside multiple contractors on a large-scale site. You will play a key role in maintaining safety standards while supporting operational delivery. This is an excellent opportunity to join a major engineering installation project, working on a fixed site with a consistent team and clear structure. This is an urgent requirement, with a start date of March 2026. Our client is open to candidates UK-wide as full accommodation and travel is provided. The contract will be a minimum of 6 months, most likely extending to 9 months or more. The Role As the Health & Safety Advisor, you will be embedded within the site management team, taking a hands-on, proactive approach to safety across a busy live construction environment. Reporting into the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for supporting VAT returns, CIS reporting and compliance, reviewing subcontractor VAT treatment including reverse charge applications, reconciling VAT control accounts, assisting with HMRC queries and supporting wider indirect tax processes across the business. You will also play a key role in ensuring compliance with current VAT legislation specific to the construction industry. You will have strong attention to detail, excellent Excel skills and a proactive approach, with the ability to communicate effectively across finance and operational teams to ensure accuracy and compliance. Previous experience within VAT or indirect tax is desirable, with construction sector experience advantageous but not essential. The role offers hybrid working.
