We are currently recruiting on behalf of a client for a Temporary Housing Officer to join their housing team in Leeds. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a strong understanding of housing management who enjoys working directly with residents and making a positive difference to their communities. The Role As a Housing Officer, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of properties and providing a high-quality housing management service to residents. You will work proactively to resolve issues, maintain strong resident relationships and ensure tenancy and housing management matters are dealt with effectively. Your responsibilities will include: Managing a caseload of residential tenancies and dealing with day-to-day housing management matters. Building positive and professional relationships with residents, providing advice and support where appropriate. Managing tenancy-related issues, including breaches of tenancy and anti-social behaviour. Carrying out tenancy visits, inspections and investigations as required. Working collaboratively with internal teams and external agencies to resolve complex cases. Taking appropriate action to address rent arrears and other tenancy-related issues. Ensuring accurate and timely records are maintained in line with organisational policies and procedures. Supporting residents to sustain their tenancies and access appropriate services where required. Providing a professional and customer-focused service at all times. About You We are looking for someone who has previous experience within a housing, tenancy management environment and who can confidently manage a varied caseload. You will ideally have: Previous experience working as a Housing Officer or in a similar housing management role. A good understanding of tenancy management and housing legislation. Experience dealing with anti-social behaviour, tenancy breaches and complex resident cases. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise a busy caseload. The confidence to deal with challenging situations professionally and sensitively. A customer-focused approach, with the ability to build effective relationships with a diverse range of residents. Good IT and administrative skills. Why Apply?
