Our client is a forward-thinking and rapidly growing M&E contractor delivering bespoke high-rise residential and commercial schemes. Due to an increase in workload, they are looking for a Quantity Surveyor and Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Manchester. In return, my client is offering: Competitive salary Car allowance Bonus scheme Generous holiday allowance Healthcare Pension matched at 6% Regular social events Ideal candidate: Experience working on high-rise residential and/or commercial developments Strong M&E quantity surveying background Experience managing projects from pre-construction through to final account Strong commercial, negotiation and communication skills Able to work independently while building effective relationships with site and operational teams Duties will include: Commercially delivering M&E projects from inception through to completion. Producing monthly interim valuations, cost reports and contract forecasts. Developing and managing project revenue and cash-flow forecasts. Preparing budgets, cost estimates and financial reports. Managing procurement of materials and subcontractors, including tender documentation and bid analysis. Agreeing main contract sums and managing subcontractor accounts and payments. Reviewing and managing variations, change orders and claims. Monitoring project progress, assessing cost performance and identifying potential cost overruns. Carrying out value-engineering exercises to optimise project budgets. Working closely with site teams, clients, Project Managers, contractors and subcontractors. Attending project progress meetings and providing weekly and monthly reports to the directors. Preparing and agreeing final accounts. Supporting and mentoring junior members of the commercial team where required. Health & Safety Advisor Location: National travel with regular visits to projects across the Southern Region and periodic travel to Manchester. We're recruiting on behalf of a leading UK design and build contractor with over 30 years' experience delivering high-quality workplaces and commercial projects across the UK. Due to continued growth, they're looking to appoint an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to support and drive their Health & Safety strategy across a national portfolio of projects. You'll be confident working with project teams, subcontractors, clients and senior stakeholders, with the communication skills and resilience to influence positive change across the business. You'll also have: NEBOSH Certificate (essential) Strong working knowledge of CDM Regulations and their practical application Experience advising on safe access systems, including tube and fit and mobile tower scaffolding Knowledge of asbestos management and lifting operations, including mobile crane planning Up-to-date knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and industry best practice Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce high-quality reports Excellent planning and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities A collaborative, relationship-led approach to driving behavioural and cultural change Full UK Driving Licence and flexibility to travel nationally The role The Health & Safety Advisor will play a key role in supporting the company's Health & Safety strategy and maintaining high standards across its national portfolio of projects. You'll carry out regular site audits, develop and review risk assessments, review Construction Phase Plans and compliance documentation, and advise project teams and subcontractors on RAMS and safe systems of work. You'll also support the design team with CDM compliance and design risk management, provide Health & Safety advice to clients and pre-contract teams, assist with behavioural safety initiatives, investigate accidents and incidents, produce reports and statistics, and support ISO audits and liaison with enforcing authorities where required.
