Structural Engineer Derbyshire Salary: £40,000 - £55,000 (DOE) + Profit Share scheme + Performance related bonus + Private Healthcare The company : Our client is a leader in providing engineered solutions to the energy and renewable energy sectors, including those in Hydrogen, Carbon Capture and waste energy. Their team designs and fabricates a variety of mechanical components, including structural supports, heat exchanges, housing enclosures, exhaust systems, ventilation and ducting. The UK arm of the business currently employs around 30 members of staff, with 50% of the team being Design and Projects Engineers. Internationally, the company employs over 800 members of staff, largely across their manufacturing sites in Europe. As a business, they are experiencing growth and a consistent large volume of incoming projects globally within growing industries, which has seen their turnover grow from £30 million in 2018 to £80 million in 2023. As such, they are looking to expand their design team to allow them to run additional projects simultaneously. The Role : As a Structural Engineer, you will be liaising with the structural design team, advising on concepts and improvements to current projects. You will largely be responsible for analysis. Your responsibilities will include : Preparing concept design drawings and calculations. Responsible for technical calculations, simulations and analysis such as: beam load, foundations, structural, stress, bending moments and materials. Attending customer meetings in the UK and overseas. Interpreting and working from customer requirements, specifications and drawings. Perform detailed engineering calculations using both software or hand calculations - these include: structural, fluid dynamic, finite element analysis, and general mechanics. Support project management, engineering, quality, and supply chain teams. Assist in producing user manuals/instructions. Conduct site surveys, condition assessments, and produce technical reports and recommendations. Provide technical support to internal and external customers. Research and development to maintain market leadership. What we're looking for in a Structural Engineer : Substantial experience in mechanical design. Experience in structural analysis using Autodesk Robot or a similar analysis package. Familiar with ASCE and Eurocodes. Good understanding of fabricated structures/components and manufacturing techniques. Pressure vessel design experience and familiarity with relevant international codes/standards. Design experience in air handling/filtration systems, heat exchangers, and acoustical calculations. Ability to interpret/create piping and instrumentation diagrams. The Benefits : Competitive salary package - £40k - £55K depending on experience. Telehandler/Plant Operative Derbyshire Location: Derbyshire Pay: £200 - £240 per day (Ltd Outside IR35 or Umbrella) Contract: 2 months contract Hours: Monday to Friday, 07 30 Immediate Start We re looking for an experienced Telehandler Operator to support with an ongoing construction project for one of our clients. This site is based in Derbyshire and will need someone for 2 months. The ideal candidate requires a NPORS or CPCS Telehandler licence (A17 or equivalent). Key responsibilities: Operate telehandlers safely and efficiently across the site. Support scaffolding installation and lifting during the first month. Move, lift, and position materials as required in the warehouse/distribution environment. Assist with loading/unloading goods and materials safely. Perform pre-start checks and basic maintenance on equipment. Follow all site health & safety regulations, including PPE requirements and induction procedures. Requirements: NPORS or CPCS Telehandler licence (A17 or equivalent). Proven telehandler experience, preferably in scaffolding, construction, or warehouse/distribution environments. Time-served experience as a plant operator or similar role. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Understanding of site safety procedures, lifting operations, and materials handling.
