Responsibilities Manage a team of SHEQ Advisors to support projects in the delivery of the companies Health, Safety and Environmental strategy. Ensure managers assume full responsibility for the discharge of responsibilities, associated with their normal activities. Conduct travel required across England and Scotland, providing operational teams and SHE advisors with the advice and guidance. Act as the main point of contact for advice and expertise on Health & Safety matters to the project teams to ensure the effectiveness of the Construction, Commercial and Residential properties phase plans during the lifecycle of the project. Undertake reviews of documentation, participate in site safety meetings, H&S Audits & Sensible Monitoring Inspections. Provide monthly H&S data & safety stats to Directors as needed, along with monthly SHE performance bulletin and send this out to the business. Requirements Diploma (or equivalent) in Health & Safety 5 years of experience working within a senior SHEQ position Experience working in Construction and Property Must have NEBOSH Membership of a safety or environmental professional body or Construction institute to incorporated or chartered level. We are seeking a Head of Construction (consultant/client side background) to join our residential and commercial development and construction team based in our London office, working on exciting residential, commercial and mixed-use, new build and redevelopment schemes across the South of England. MCR currently has a residential development pipeline in excess of 11000 units and over 1500 units currently on site or due to start on site within the next 12 months. The role will be leading a construction team and working closely with directors to manage developments ranging between £1m to £250m GDV from start to finish; including all aspects of construction, design and finance. Candidates must have a minimum of 10 years' experience with a proven track record of managing mid to large scale developments, from conception through to completion Responsibilities: Responsible for the overall delivery of all current and future projects from conception through to completion across the south of England Ensuring projects are delivered on time and on budget Effectively manage on site construction teams across multiple projects Efficiently and effectively managing health, safety, environmental and quality and ensuring legal compliance and maintenance of company standard Travelling between multiple sites. MCR is a successful and entrepreneurial property development and investment company working across the UK with a pipeline in excess of 9,000 residential units. From offices in Manchester, London, Birmingham, and Edinburgh MCR is actively involved in acquiring, promoting and developing new residential and commercial projects. MCR carries out all major projects with its own internal contracting arm, rather than relying on main contractors. This contracting arm is currently hiring capable Project Managers at various levels to help deliver a wide range of projects. We have just acquired a large building in central Glasgow that will be undergoing a large refurbishment and upgrade so we are looking for a PM who can oversee the works, both our own tradesmen and sub-contractors. It is anticipated that this project will take 18-24 months but then we are also expanding and have other projects all over Scotland, from new build to refurbishment so there will be many more opportunities for the right candidate. Primary Purpose and Scope of the Job: End to end project management from inception through to delivery To be responsible for achieving key performance targets and value for money including compliance with H&S regulations To take responsibility for the effective, efficient and consistent communication of information and monitoring of budgets and progress in relation to a project. Example tasks that you will have been involved with to some degree already and that your role with us will involve the following elements: Knowledge and ability to assist or create basic tender packages Managing tender processes and displaying commerciality. The successful candidate will have the knowledge and ability to acquire assets across all sectors throughout the UK.
