Quantity Surveyor - Preston - £45k - £70k (DOE) + car allowance + excellent benefits Our client is well established commercial fit-out company based in Preston, due to continued growth and expansion they are now looking to recruit a Quantity Surveyor to join their team. Responsibilities will include: Preparing accurate estimates and cost plans for projects across multiple sectors Managing project budgets, valuations, and forecasts throughout the contract lifecycle Producing bills of quantities, tender submissions, and cost breakdowns Monitoring project expenditure, identifying risks, and implementing cost control measures Managing subcontractor accounts, including payments, variations, and claims Liaising with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to negotiate and resolve commercial issues Supporting project managers and senior leadership with commercial reporting Contributing to business growth by providing input on tenders and bidding strategy The ideal Candidate will have: Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Estimator within construction, ideally with a contractor or subcontractor background Strong knowledge of JCT contracts and commercial management principles Excellent negotiation, analytical, and organisational skills Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously Confident communication skills for liaising with internal and external stakeholders Relevant degree or equivalent experience in Quantity Surveying / Commercial Management

This is an exciting opportunity to work within a growing group on a range of residential-led development projects while developing your skills in a supportive, collaborative environment. Technical Coordinator (Residential Housebuilding) - Birmingham - £40k - £50k + excellent benefits Our client is a well-established Architectural Company based in Birmingham. Due to continued growth and expansion, they are now looking to recruit a Technical Coordinator with strong experience in residential housebuilding You will have strong technical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment As our Technical Coordinator, you will support the technical team within this standalone business unit, coordinating architectural and engineering matters on site-based projects from initial site commencement through to completion, handover, and final close-out. You will play an integral role in helping this division grow and succeed. Key Responsibilities: Reviewing and interpreting technical information to support the preparation of Pre-Development Programmes. Instructing and managing external consultants in the preparation and delivery of production information within agreed scope, fee, and programme. Ensuring all technical information is high quality, value engineered, and sufficient to obtain necessary approvals while minimising risk and facilitating efficient site starts. Managing the production, control, and issue of working drawings and all associated technical information to relevant parties. Overseeing statutory submissions including sewer connections, Section Agreements, and other regulatory requirements. Submitting and managing NHBC, Building Regulation applications, and discharge of planning conditions. Maintaining records of professional fees budgets on a monthly basis to support financial reporting. Arranging and attending progress meetings pre and post-development and conducting regular site visits to ensure projects are delivered efficiently and cost-effectively. Supporting subcontractor procurement and working closely with the Commercial team to ensure tight cost control. The ideal candidate will have: A relevant HNC/HND (or equivalent) with post-qualification experience. Strong technical knowledge of construction practices and industry standards. A solid understanding of Building Regulations, NHBC standards, and associated legislation. Excellent communication, organisation, and project management skills. The ability to identify issues quickly and implement effective solutions. A full UK driving licence.

Senior Estimator/ QS - Preston - £55k - £65k + car allowance + excellent benefits Our client is well established commercial fit-out company based in Preston, due to continued growth and expansion they are now looking to recruit a Senior Estimator/ Quantity Surveyor to join their team. Responsibilities/Duties: Prepare accurate cost estimates and tender submissions Analyse drawings, specifications, and tender documents Obtain and assess supplier and subcontractor quotations Taking enquiries from the sales team and deciding the best way to approach the opportunity Attending site with the salesperson to scope out the project and gain an understanding about what needs to be quoted for Liaising with suppliers and sub-contractors to obtain pricing. Sourcing and researching special items that are required Help build relationships with clients and follow up quotations once they have been issued Carry out changes to quotations and upsell where possible Once order has been won, carry out value engineering to improve project margin by negotiating with suppliers and sub-contractors and finding ways to take cost out of the project Handover of orders to project manager making sure they understands the financial aspects of the project Helping the project manager with valuations of work in progress Assisting the purchasing team and/or project manager with the placing of purchase orders for projects Liaise with the accounts department regarding any costing queries Skills/Attributes Required: Strong organisational skills, disciplined approach, accuracy and attention to detail. Creative and able to think outside the box about how to win a project. Personable, and able to get on well with suppliers, sub-contractors and colleagues. Ability to build rapport and form business relationships.
