Spencer Clarke Group are seeking a Housing Advisor for a Local Authority Client in Southwest London. In this role, you will support people at risk of homelessness by assessing their needs and securing appropriate housing solutions. Duties: Provide frontline housing advice, complete housing needs assessments, and develop personalised housing plans. Manage a complex caseload, delivering homelessness prevention and relief through advice, negotiation, and mediation. Assess homelessness applications under Part VII of the Housing Act 1996 and communicate outcomes to customers. Explore and secure suitable housing options, including private rented and supported accommodation, to prevent homelessness. Qualifications and Experience: The successful candidate will have the following skills / experience: Experience working in a housing options, homelessness prevention, or local authority housing service. Experience managing a busy caseload and working effectively in a high-pressure, customer-facing environment. Experience applying housing law, particularly the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017 and Housing Act 1996 Part VII. Experience in negotiation, mediation, and working with vulnerable individuals to achieve positive housing outcomes.
