Blue Arrow are currently working with a University within the Newcastle area for a Technical Compliance Manager , working within their Estates and Facilities department. Role: Technical Compliance Manager Location: Newcastle Upon Tyne Salary: 47k - 58k DOE (yearly salary and grading reviews) Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5pm (this role will site based) - flexibility required Contract: Permanent Role Overview Oversee and ensure full compliance across the campus, managing policies, procedures, and providing expert technical support across a diverse range of activities within their area of expertise. Key Essentials Knowledge of building construction, building standards, compliance obligations, planning regulations, regulatory standards, and building services legislation Knowledge of CDM (Construction Design Management) Regulations and other related housing regulations/legislation and how they apply within the context of statutory compliance Demonstrable knowledge of fire safety compliance, estates safety and fall arrest implications for planned works on commercial property installations plus appropriate safety procedures and certification requirements Understanding of Statutory Compliance obligations, particularly regarding asbestos, electrical, fire, gas, mechanical and water safety. Pay rate: 15 per hour Hours of work: Monday - Thursday, 7am to 3:30pm; Friday 7am to 1pm Contract: Temporary (approximately 2 weeks initially) Location: St Andrews Job Duties: Prepare surfaces for painting by washing, scraping, sanding, and filling holes and cracks Apply paint, varnish, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, or sprayers Ensure all work is completed to a high standard and in line with health and safety regulations Maintain a clean and organised work area Collaborate with site supervisors and other tradespeople to ensure timely project completion Requirements: Previous experience in painting or a similar role is essential Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality Own tools and PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) preferred Candidates must hold a CSCS card. Rate of pay: Approx. 200/day (negotiable depending on experience) Hours of work: 8:00am - 4:30pm, Monday to Friday Contract: 2-3 month contract approx: flexibility needed for this project- exact timeframe tbc About the role: We are seeking an experienced Freelance Site Manager to oversee the fit-out of a new bar project in Swansea. You will be responsible for managing day-to-day site operations, ensuring the project is delivered on time, to specification, and to the highest quality standards. Key Responsibilities: Oversee and coordinate subcontractors and trades on site Ensure all works are delivered in line with approved design drawings Manage site Health & Safety in line with RAMS and CDM regulations Liaise closely with the client, suppliers, and the design team to maintain progress and resolve any on-site challenges Manage programme schedules and provide progress updates Ensure quality control throughout all stages of the build Support the smooth handover of the completed project Candidate Requirements: Proven experience as a Site Manager on hospitality or bar/restaurant fit-out projects Valid CSCS card SMSTS or SSSTS certification First Aid at Work certification Strong trade background (carpentry preferred, though not essential) Excellent problem-solving and communication skills Ability to manage subcontractors and drive a project forward You'll be hands-on, proactive, and detail-driven A background in carpentry is advantageous Confidence, control, and efficiency to the project.
