Building and Construction Project Leader Role Overview A contract opportunity is available for an experienced Building & Construction Project Leader to lead capital investment projects from initial feasibility through to design, delivery and final handover. Based in Stevenage, the Building & Construction Project Leader will be responsible for managing multidisciplinary teams, coordinating stakeholders and ensuring projects are delivered safely, compliantly and to agreed objectives within the building services and construction industry. Working on a range of refurbishment, infrastructure and plant replacement projects in Stevenage, this Building & Construction Project Leader role offers the opportunity to oversee the full project lifecycle within the building services and construction industry. Contract Details Contract opportunity Location: Stevenage Industry: Building Services and Construction Duration: 12 Months Rate: Up to £40ph Umbrella Inside IR35 Responsibilities Lead and manage multi-functional project teams across all project phases. Deliver CAPEX projects from feasibility and business case development through to final handover. Develop, maintain and monitor project delivery plans. Identify, assess and manage project risks and opportunities. Prepare detailed design briefs for building services, refurbishment and major plant replacement projects. Liaise with clients, architects, engineers and external design consultants. Produce and review technical reports, specifications, drawings and project documentation. Manage project costs and oversee external professional service providers. Monitor installation and construction activities on site, ensuring technical compliance and adherence to health and safety requirements. Build and maintain effective stakeholder and client relationships throughout project delivery. Skills and Experience Proven experience delivering CAPEX projects from inception through to completion and handover. Experience leading multi-functional project teams and managing external consultants and contractors. ONC, HNC or equivalent qualification in Building Engineering Services or a related discipline. Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical building services systems, equipment and infrastructure. Experience working on refurbishment, building services and plant replacement projects within existing buildings. Ability to develop client requirements into design briefs, scopes of work and project specifications. Proficiency with project management and reporting tools, including Microsoft Project, SharePoint and similar software. Professional membership, or working towards membership, of organisations such as CIBSE, IMechE or IET. Building and Construction Project Leader Portsmouth (Hybrid) 12 Month Contract Belcan are currently supporting one of the leaders in the Aviation industry, with their search for a Building and Construction Project Leader. The Project Construction Leader will be responsible for setting up and leading CAPEX projects from inception and feasibility, through to design and specification and final handover. Role Description Set-up and manage Multi-Functional Project Teams to deliver projects in accordance with internal requirements and compliance to internal procedures. Lead MFTs through the detailed design of Building Services for a range of projects including major plant replacement and refurbishment works. An awareness of the associated maintenance and operation of engineering services including condition surveys, service delivery audits and preparing plant replacement/life cycle plans would be a distinct advantage. Application of industry standard design and calculation software Liaising with clients, architects and other design team members. Preparation of reports, drawings and specifications Developing and maintaining excellent client relationships. Project management of suitable projects, excellent communication skills Monitoring/ Audit/ Validate progress of Professional Service Work Packages, and works on site and observance of technical compliance and H&S matters Skills & Attributes Ability to lead, motivate and manage a Multi-Functional Project Team (MFT); including external professional staff, i.e. contract managers, client CDM, QS etc. Previous experience ideally within FM as in a senior PM role Experience in Capital Investment Project management, and project delivery is required. ONC / HNC or equivalent in a Building Engineering Services design-related discipline Previous experience of Building Engineering Services Refurbishment in existing buildings with particular emphasis on delivering small to medium sized projects Demonstrable experience of taking projects from inception and feasibility, through design and specification to site monitoring and handover. Ability to develop client brief into construction requirements, including scopes for External Professionals, i.e. architect, structural engineer, systems designers A good practical understanding of mechanical and electrical plant, systems and equipment In relation to engineering design, operation and maintenance across a wide range of sectors and building types Previous experience working within a consultancy environment. Hold relevant level of professional membership i.e. CIBSE, IMechE, IET Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders. Responsible for assuring safety, security and ethical compliance i.a.w. company requirements Responsibilities Develop, update/manage and monitor a project delivery plan. Identify and manage risks and opportunities. Manage CAPEX business cases from preparation through approval to delivery and project close. Develop detailed design briefs for Building Services design for a range of projects including major plant replacement and refurbishment works. Skilled and competent in IT tools, able to produce and present documentation, reports, technical analysis, cost reports. Experience in SharePoint / MS Project / G suite highly preferred.
