Building and Construction Project Leader Role Overview A contract opportunity is available for an experienced Building & Construction Project Leader to lead capital investment projects from initial feasibility through to design, delivery and final handover. Based in Stevenage, the Building & Construction Project Leader will be responsible for managing multidisciplinary teams, coordinating stakeholders and ensuring projects are delivered safely, compliantly and to agreed objectives within the building services and construction industry. Deliver CAPEX projects from feasibility and business case development through to final handover. Develop, maintain and monitor project delivery plans. Identify, assess and manage project risks and opportunities. Prepare detailed design briefs for building services, refurbishment and major plant replacement projects. Liaise with clients, architects, engineers and external design consultants. Produce and review technical reports, specifications, drawings and project documentation. Manage project costs and oversee external professional service providers. Monitor installation and construction activities on site, ensuring technical compliance and adherence to health and safety requirements. Build and maintain effective stakeholder and client relationships throughout project delivery. Skills and Experience Proven experience delivering CAPEX projects from inception through to completion and handover. Experience leading multi-functional project teams and managing external consultants and contractors. ONC, HNC or equivalent qualification in Building Engineering Services or a related discipline. Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical building services systems, equipment and infrastructure. Experience working on refurbishment, building services and plant replacement projects within existing buildings. Ability to develop client requirements into design briefs, scopes of work and project specifications. Proficiency with project management and reporting tools, including Microsoft Project, SharePoint and similar software. Professional membership, or working towards membership, of organisations such as CIBSE, IMechE or IET. The Project Construction Leader will be responsible for setting up and leading CAPEX projects from inception and feasibility, through to design and specification and final handover. Role Description Set-up and manage Multi-Functional Project Teams to deliver projects in accordance with internal requirements and compliance to internal procedures. Lead MFTs through the detailed design of Building Services for a range of projects including major plant replacement and refurbishment works. An awareness of the associated maintenance and operation of engineering services including condition surveys, service delivery audits and preparing plant replacement/life cycle plans would be a distinct advantage. Application of industry standard design and calculation software Liaising with clients, architects and other design team members. Preparation of reports, drawings and specifications Developing and maintaining excellent client relationships.
