Health & Safety Manager Location: Surrey Job Type: Permanent A well-established construction-related business in Surrey is seeking a Health & Safety Manager to join the team as part of a planned succession strategy. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who has either transitioned from a hands-on construction role into Health & Safety or is now looking to take that next step in their career. The successful candidate will work closely with the current Health & Safety Manager, receiving comprehensive training and support before ultimately taking over the position. The aim is for the successful candidate to assume full responsibility for the role by the end of this year, or sooner, depending on experience and development. Key Responsibilities Manage and develop the company's Health & Safety function. Conduct regular site inspections, audits and compliance checks. Review, monitor and inspect Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS). Ensure safe working practices are implemented and maintained across all projects. Identify hazards and recommend practical corrective actions. Provide support and guidance to site teams, supervisors and management. Investigate accidents, incidents and near misses, producing reports and recommendations. Deliver toolbox talks and contribute to Health & Safety training initiatives. Maintain accurate Health & Safety documentation and records. Keep up to date with relevant legislation and industry best practice. About You NEBOSH qualification (General Certificate or higher). Previous construction industry experience. Experience reviewing and inspecting RAMS. Strong understanding of Health & Safety legislation and site compliance. Electrical Site Supervisor Hertfordshire £425 £475 per day We are partnering with a Tier 1 contractor to recruit an experienced Electrical Site Supervisor for a high-profile water infrastructure project based in Hertfordshire. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established delivery team working on critical infrastructure, where your expertise will have a direct impact on project quality and programme. Reporting to the Regional Commissioning Manager, you will take ownership of all electrical site activities - ensuring installations are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard, with quality and compliance at the forefront of everything you do. Key Responsibilities Lead the supervision of electrical installations on site, ensuring all works are delivered in line with current standards, specifications, and contractual requirements Act as Electrical Appointed Person, upholding electrical safety rules and ensuring all supporting documentation is produced in accordance with CMDP requirements Carry out and oversee LV electrical isolations and issue limitation of access permits Oversee electrical testing in line with BS7671, reviewing test results against Guidance Note 3 and manufacturers' literature Review and monitor supplier inspection and test plans, ensuring they remain live, relevant, and aligned to the work activity Monitor supply chain performance and programme, conducting regular 1-2-1s with supply chain supervisors to drive delivery and maintain standards Champion SHE best practice across site, ensuring safe systems of work are embedded at every level Play an active role in collaborative planning meetings, contributing to the development of site delivery programmes Support commissioning activities as required, and assist with the compilation of project takeover documentation Carry out regular safety inspections on both temporary and permanent electrical equipment Maintain a detailed daily site diary, keeping an accurate record of all site activities Requirements SMSTS or SSSTS Electrical Appointed Person status ECS Card C&G 2330 or 2360 in Electrical Installations NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installations IEE 18th Edition Wiring Regulations First Aid at Work (FAAW) 2391 Test and Inspect (preferred)
