Job Description Job Title: Project Engineer Salary: £45,000 - 50,000 per year Location: Redditch Purpose of the Role The Project Engineer is responsible for supporting the delivery of assigned projects from inception through to completion, ensuring works are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards, in full compliance with contractual, company, and statutory requirements. Key Responsibilities Project Delivery & Management Report to the Project or Contracts Manager on all day-to-day matters relating to allocated projects. Collaborate with project teams, designers, and stakeholders to define project specifications and contribute to design development where required. Resources, Planning & Cost Control Assess, plan, and manage required resources (manpower, plant, equipment, and materials) from project start to completion. Assist with tendering activities, take-offs, and review of specifications, materials, and work methods. In conjunction with the Site Manager/Supervisor, ensure that appropriate tools, plant, equipment, and materials are available to allow works to proceed efficiently. Quality, Safety & Compliance Ensure high standards of quality and workmanship are maintained at all times. Operate in full compliance with the Company's Integrated Management System (IMS) and external accreditation requirements. Work within the Company's Quality, Environmental, and Health & Safety management systems. Review and assist in the implementation of safe systems of work, including method statements, risk assessments, and COSHH assessments. Ensure correct working methods are implemented to improve safety, eliminate hazards, and promote efficient working practices. Ensure housekeeping standards are maintained and waste is minimised wherever possible. Leadership, Conduct & Communication Monitor, support, and mentor junior, new, or trainee employees in the Company's systems, values, and work ethos. Maintain effective client liaison and contribute to exceeding customer expectations and satisfaction. Present a professional image and conduct at all times, representing the Company positively. Report immediately to Company Directors any accidents, incidents, damage, unsafe acts, or misuse of Company property. Escalate any actions or behaviours that may negatively impact the Company's reputation. Company Objectives Maintain awareness and understanding of the Company's roles, responsibilities, objectives, and targets. Support the achievement of Company objectives through compliance with policies, procedures, and work instructions. Minimum Qualifications & Experience Valid Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) card. Relevant craft or trade qualifications and practical construction experience. Sound understanding of Health, Safety, and Environmental legislation and requirements. Ability to review and implement safe systems of work, including method statements and risk assessments. Knowledge of COSHH risk assessments. Familiarity with company policies, procedures, and legal guidelines within the construction industry. Strong organisational, planning, and leadership skills.
