Our client is seeking a Site Manager for refurbishment works at Manchester University. This role involves managing multiple small works packages for refurbishments. The successful candidates will be confident managing live sites, highly organised, and capable of maintaining a professional, client-facing approach throughout the project duration. Rate: 28.00 per hour Contract: Immediate Start until August Start: ASAP You must have small refurbishment experience such as classrooms/bathrooms. Job Responsibilities: Oversee internal refurbishment and fit-out projects across Manchester Uni. Coordinate and manage subcontractors and direct labour. Ensure full compliance with health & safety and site regulations. Maintain strong communication with the client and uphold excellent site presentation. Track progress and ensure timely delivery of multiple small-scale jobs. Manage all relevant site paperwork, inductions, and reporting. Requirements: Proven experience delivering internal fit-out and refurb projects, preferably within live environments. Confident dealing with clients and representing the contractor professionally. SMSTS, First Aid, and CSCS required. Must have or be willing to complete the following: Asbestos Awareness (UKATA) Manual Handling Working at Heights (Links can be provided to complete these if needed.) Due to continued growth, they're looking to appoint a Project Manager to join their main contracting team, delivering projects for long-standing clients including David Lloyd Clubs and Costco. You'll oversee a diverse portfolio of projects ranging from £300,000 to £5 million , managing schemes from inception through to successful handover. This is a role for someone who enjoys building relationships as much as delivering projects. You'll be trusted to manage schemes from start to finish, working closely with clients while travelling across the UK and occasionally Europe (typically twice per month). We are seeking an experienced Assistant Site Manager to support the delivery of a new build warehouse and production facility in Preston. This is a 6-month freelance role focused primarily on external works, including drainage infrastructure, kerbing, and associated groundworks packages. Working closely with the Site Manager and project team, you will help coordinate subcontractors, ensure works are delivered safely and to programme, and maintain quality standards across the external works phase of the project. Key Responsibilities Assist the Site Manager with the day-to-day running of the construction site. Supervise and coordinate groundworks and external works subcontractors. Oversee installation of drainage systems, kerbing, and associated infrastructure. Ensure all works are carried out in line with health & safety regulations and site procedures. Conduct site inductions, toolbox talks, and daily briefings where required. Monitor programme progress, identifying and reporting potential delays. Maintain quality control and inspection records for external works packages. Liaise with engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth project delivery. Assist with site documentation, RAMS reviews, and permit systems. Support the management team in maintaining a clean, safe, and organised site. Requirements Proven experience in an Assistant Site Manager or Supervisor role within construction. Experience working on commercial, industrial, or warehouse projects. Strong understanding of external works, drainage, groundworks, and kerbing. Ability to coordinate subcontractors and manage site activities effectively.
