The role of Senior Buyer will see you provide procurement services to Miller Homes sites and developments throughout UK under the supervision of the Commercial Director / Manager RESPONSIBILITIES: Manage direct procurement of materials and hired plant in line with best commercial practice Complete comparisons and be aware of the accuracy of rates and costs within the market place Comply with Miller Homes policies and procedures, and Divisional procurement implementation plans Technical support, inclusive of appropriate advice as required to the site construction team. REQUIREMENTS: Extensive experience of procurement in the Housebuilding / Construction industry. We are looking to recruit an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our Commercial Team in the North East. The main purpose of the Assistant Quantity Surveyor is to Support the Commercial Team by providing assistance to the Senior Surveyor(s) in their day to day duties to ensure that all financial aspects of development schemes are reported and controlled. RESPONSIBILITIES: Carrying out procurement of the subcontract trades. Assisting the Senior Surveyor with internal cost reporting and external valuations Carrying out specific Surveying duties Re-measurements exercises etc. Reviewing different construction methods for commercial feasibility REQUIREMENTS: Has or is working towards a recognized degree or equivalent in Quantity Surveying. A talented construction professional ideally from a similar background, having gained experience with a housebuilder, contractor or consultancy Skilled in financial management and cost control Able to identify potential problems before they arise and evolve effective, innovative and cost efficient timely solutions in the event that they do. We are looking to recruit a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join theCommercial Team in our North-East region. The main purpose of the role is to fulfil Senior Surveying commercial duties on a single or a number of projects within Miller Homes Limited RESPONSIBILITIES: Procurement of sub-contract trades and reconciliation of material purchase orders placed by Buyers Consolidation and analysis of monthly commercial reports Liaising with the finance teams to ensure accurate and timely reporting of live developments is maintained Mentoring of Junior team members REQUIREMENTS: Surveying skills gained with a recognised house builder or within the wider construction sector with the ability to work to set monthly reporting timescales.
