Assistant Quantity Surveyor/ Junior QS/ Estimator (M&E / Fire Alarm/ Electrical) Great for Estimator, Cost/ Commercial or QS in the making with some experience of Electrical, Fire Alarm or similar project take offs, Site instruction, Drawing revision updates , Quoting, and like to progress and be mentored by QS with Estimator and Electrical background themselves to learn QS Duties will include - Working on M&E projects as part of installer of Fire, Electrical, M&E Get Site Instructions Project takeoffs learning from Electrical and Fire Alarm QS and Commercial manager Sitting in on meetings with QS to learn from clients and process Drawing organisation, ensuring pricing latest revisions and changes be the visiting sites supporting project managers with takeoffs, RFP's Liasing with design team to ensure designs and installs same London Sites and projects, with Surrey office - £35k- £45k + Travel + possible BUPA + Benefits We're looking for a commercially minded person to become an Assistant Quantity Surveyor/ Junior QS to support Senior QS and Project Managers in London with costings, variations and invoicing requests for payment, by passing details to QS. This role will focus on carrying out take-offs using Bluebeam (Can train on the software) if done takeoffs before in other ways , identifying differences between tendered works and actual site requirements, and working closely with Project Managers to understand and quantify variations, cost impacts, and commercial opportunities from Site Instructions. You'll then provide information to the Quantity Surveying/ Design team to support valuations, invoicing, applications for payment. Fire Alarm experience is not required. We're keen to hear from candidates with backgrounds in: Quantity Surveying Estimating Project Management Design Backgrounds ideal - M&E or Fire & Security or Fire Alarms, or Electrical or Airconditioning, BMS, HVAC, etc Key Requirements for Junior Quantity Surveyor/ Assistant QS/ Estimator role Experience using Bluebeam for take-offs would be excellent (but can be shown) commercial awareness with experience as Estimator, QS, Cost, commercial role within M&E installer, contractor or subcontractor Commutable to Surrey Office and Central London Projects Ability to interpret technical drawings, revisions and specifications Experience analysing costs, pricing, and project variations Strong communication and reporting skills What's on Offer for Assistant Quantity Surveyor or Estimator(M&E Projects). £35,000 - £45,000 salary Company Car or Car Allowance possible Possible BUPA Private Healthcare c. 34 days Holiday entitlement Pension Ongoing training and development and mentoring from QS Career Progression for M&E Estimator/ Assistant QS Contact Us - This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop into a Quantity Surveyor from an Estimator type role, or already have QS or Assistant QS experience but main things are experience of M&E project takeoffs.
