Water Hygiene Engineer Location: Lambeth - Salary: 35,735 - Job Type: Full-time, Permanent An established and growing facilities management contractor is seeking an experienced Water Hygiene Engineer to join its commercial maintenance team. The successful candidate will work across a range of commercial water hygiene contracts, carrying out legionella control and water hygiene tasks on both mains-fed and stored hot and cold water systems. Key Responsibilities Carry out water temperature monitoring and water sampling in accordance with current legislation and guidance. Conduct cold water storage tank inspections, cleaning and disinfection. Clean and descale showers and other water outlets. Service Thermostatic Mixing Valves (TMVs). Undertake minor plumbing repairs and remedial works as required. Complete service reports accurately on the same day using a handheld PDA or mobile device. Build and maintain positive working relationships with clients. Work independently and as part of a wider team, demonstrating initiative and a proactive approach. Manage workload effectively to meet agreed deadlines and service levels. Respond to urgent tasks as required and support colleagues where necessary. Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with current Health and Safety legislation, company procedures and industry best practice. Requirements Essential Minimum of one year's experience within a water hygiene role. Legionella Awareness qualification. Full UK driving licence. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Desirable NVQ in Plumbing or equivalent qualification. Plumbing experience and the ability to carry out minor remedial works. Knowledge of ACoP L8, HSG274 and the Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations 1999. Asbestos Awareness certification. Training in Working at Height, Manual Handling, First Aid or other relevant Health and Safety qualifications.
