Goodman Masson is currently working with a London social housing organisation to recruit for an interim Fire Risk Assessment Manager. Pay - £450 - 550 per day INSIDE IR35 The Role You will take overall responsibility for ensuring the Fire Risk Assessment programme is delivered effectively, consistently and in line with statutory requirements and best practice. Working closely with senior fire safety and building safety colleagues, you will provide technical leadership, manage a specialist team and use fire risk data to inform strategic fire safety planning. Key responsibilities will include: Developing and managing an annual programme of Type 1, 2, 3 and 4 Fire Risk Assessments . Ensuring FRAs are completed, reviewed and updated within required timescales. Overseeing fire door inspections across relevant higher-risk residential buildings. Monitoring and auditing FRA reports to ensure accuracy, quality and consistency. Maintaining a comprehensive fire risk profile across the housing portfolio. Identifying and prioritising key fire safety risks and ensuring appropriate actions are taken. Ensuring compliance with the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, Fire Safety Act 2021 and Building Safety Act 2022 . Working with relevant regulatory and fire safety authorities on fire safety matters. Leading and managing a team of Fire Risk Assessors and Fire Door Inspectors . Providing professional leadership, mentoring and development to the team. Managing external fire risk assessment consultants and contractors where required. Overseeing performance management and quality assurance. Developing and maintaining fire safety policies, procedures and operational plans. Producing strategic reports for senior management, highlighting fire risk trends, key risks and mitigation strategies. Ensuring fire safety data is accurately collected, analysed and used to support strategic decision-making. Supporting the development and implementation of wider fire safety strategy. Engaging with residents, tenant groups and other stakeholders regarding fire risk assessments and mitigation measures. Providing clear advice and responding to resident queries and concerns. Promoting a strong fire safety culture across the organisation. About You You will be an experienced Fire Risk Assessment Manager / Fire Safety Manager with significant experience within social housing, local government or a similar residential environment . You will have: Significant experience managing Fire Risk Assessment programmes . Proven experience undertaking or overseeing Type 1, 2, 3 and 4 FRAs . Strong working knowledge of current fire safety legislation, particularly the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, Fire Safety Act 2021 and Building Safety Act 2022 . Experience managing and developing Fire Risk Assessors, Fire Door Inspectors or similar specialist teams. Experience managing external consultants and contractors. A strong understanding of fire safety risk profiling and remediation. Experience delivering fire safety improvements across residential buildings. Strong project management and organisational skills. The ability to analyse fire safety data and translate findings into practical risk management strategies. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. The confidence to provide expert technical advice to senior stakeholders. A NEBOSH Fire Safety Certificate or equivalent is required, alongside relevant professional membership such as Institute of Fire Engineers, IFSM, IOSH or similar . Pay - £450 - 550 per day INSIDE IR35 The Role As Interim Fire Remediation Manager, you will lead the delivery and oversight of fire safety remediation programmes across a residential housing portfolio. You will work closely with internal asset and housing teams, contractors, residents and regulatory stakeholders to ensure fire safety actions are effectively managed and delivered in line with statutory requirements and best practice. Key responsibilities will include: Reviewing and risk-profiling outstanding fire safety actions arising from Fire Risk Assessments. Prioritising remediation works based on risk and ensuring actions are completed within agreed timescales. Providing assurance that fire safety works comply with relevant legislation and regulatory requirements. Undertaking quality assurance audits of completed fire safety remediation works. Overseeing the procurement and management of contractors delivering fire safety works. Monitoring contractor performance, project milestones, quality and compliance. Managing health and safety requirements associated with remediation programmes. Providing regular progress, risk and performance updates to senior management. Contributing to wider building safety strategies and improvement programmes. Overseeing the management and investigation of relevant safety incidents, accidents and near misses. Acting as a key point of contact for residents throughout fire safety remediation works. Working collaboratively with housing management, asset management, legal and other internal teams. Liaising with relevant regulatory and fire safety bodies where required. Managing and developing a small team. Supporting financial management, forecasting and budget monitoring for fire safety remediation programmes. Maintaining accurate records of outstanding actions and remediation progress. Ensuring fire safety policies, procedures and governance arrangements remain up to date. About You You will be an experienced Fire Safety / Fire Remediation Manager with significant experience delivering fire safety improvements within social housing, local government or a similar residential environment . You will have: Significant experience managing fire safety remediation programmes and implementing actions arising from FRAs. Strong knowledge of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, Fire Safety Act 2021 and Building Safety Act 2022 . Strong understanding of fire risk assessment methodologies and fire safety remediation. Proven experience managing fire safety contractors and remediation projects . A strong track record of delivering fire safety improvements across residential buildings. Experience analysing fire safety data and using risk information to prioritise remediation activity. Strong project management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams. Experience managing budgets and monitoring contractor performance. Experience leading and developing a small team. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, particularly when dealing with residents, contractors and senior stakeholders. A Level 4 Fire Safety & Risk Management qualification or equivalent is required, alongside relevant professional membership such as IFE, IFSM, IOSH or similar .
