My client is seeking an experienced Bid Estimator to join their growing team in Waltham Abbey, supporting the delivery of competitive and commercially robust tender submissions across electrical compliance, planned maintenance and social housing contracts. The successful candidate will have strong electrical estimating experience, with the ability to prepare accurate cost models for EICRs, electrical remedial works, emergency lighting, smoke alarm installations and wider maintenance programmes. You will take ownership of bids from initial review through to submission, ensuring all pricing is commercially sound, technically compliant and aligned with business objectives. This role would suit someone with a strong understanding of public sector and social housing contracts, including framework agreements and procurement processes. Working closely with operational, commercial and bid teams, you will assess tender opportunities, obtain and evaluate supply chain quotations, identify project risks and develop winning pricing strategies. A sound knowledge of Schedule of Rates pricing is essential, particularly NHF SORs, and applicants should be confident building estimates that accurately reflect labour, materials, subcontractor costs and project risk. To be considered, you must have previous estimating or bid estimating experience within the electrical, compliance, construction or maintenance sectors, alongside excellent commercial awareness and strong Excel skills. Experience within social housing, local authority or public sector environments is highly desirable, as is familiarity with NEC/JCT contracts and framework-based bidding. Reporting to the Estates Director the Head of QHSE will provide strategic leadership for quality, health, safety and environmental management across Wellcome Genome Campus Ltd (WGCL), supporting the management of the existing Campus and its ambitious expansion programme. Working closely with senior leaders and key stakeholders, the role will oversee governance, compliance, risk management and business continuity, ensuring safe, sustainable and resilient operations as the Campus continues to grow. We are seeking an influential and commercially minded QHSE leader with significant experience operating within complex property, estate, facilities management or infrastructure environments. You will have a proven track record of supporting operational portfolios through periods of growth, development and transformation, ensuring effective governance, compliance and risk management across live and evolving environments. The successful candidate will bring substantial experience of developing and implementing QHSE strategies, governance frameworks and management systems, alongside a strong ability to engage, influence and build credibility with senior stakeholders.
