Senior Quantity Surveyor Reports To Commercial Manager / Commercial Director Job Purpose To manage the commercial and contractual aspects of construction projects, ensuring value for money, cost control, and effective risk management from pre-contract through to final account. Key Responsibilities Manage project costs from tender stage through to final account Prepare and review cost plans, budgets, and forecasts Lead procurement of subcontractors and suppliers Administer contracts (e.g. JCT / NEC) including variations and change control Prepare, submit, and agree interim valuations and final accounts Assess and manage commercial risks and opportunities Manage and mentor junior QS staff where required Liaise with clients, consultants, and site teams to ensure commercial objectives are met Ensure compliance with company procedures and contractual obligations Support dispute resolution and commercial negotiations as needed Skills & Experience Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor Strong knowledge of standard forms of contract (JCT, NEC, etc.) Excellent cost control, reporting, and forecasting skills Commercially aware with strong negotiation ability Experience managing subcontractor packages Confident communicator with the ability to lead meetings Good IT skills (Excel, commercial software, reporting tools) Qualifications Degree in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management - Desirable
