Yard Supervisor based in Wolverton Job Objectives To offer day to day support to the Yard Manager in the safe management of the yard operations and team. Oversee daily yard activities, ensuring our high-level safety and compliance requirements are met and any hazards are addressed promptly. Assist with management of process improvement projects and annual stock checks. Assist with storage layouts and optimise space utilisation within the Yard area. Ensure safety standards are maintained when loading/unloading vehicles. Operational Duties (to include, but not limited to): Supervising yard support team and others from the labour pool. If Yard Manager absent, deliver a full team briefing at the start of the working day, ensure clear instruction is delivered for the day s workload. Oversee all yard activities with the Yard Manager, including loading, unloading and storage operations, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and company policies and help with fostering a culture of safety within the team. Monitor additional yard labour requirements and communicate this to the Yard Manager. Support the Yard Manager with stock movements. Ensure all returned equipment from site is checked, cleaned, separated and returned to stock. Supervise the Yard Support team in maintaining and keeping a clean, safe working environment with all risks minimised and report any areas of concern to the Yard Manager verbally and via the Near Miss and Damages procedures. Guide and encourage Yard Support personnel to check and maintain stock levels, report any shortfall to the Yard Manager.
