PROJECT ENGINEER SOUTHAMPTON OR SWINDON OR HYBRID We are currently recruiting for a Project Engineer to join our multi-disciplinary engineering team to deliver multiple P removal schemes across the Wessex Water region. This role will report to a Project Manager, and the candidate will be responsible for supporting the project team with the procurement, installation and handover documentation for all electrical and mechanical aspects of the project delivery. Candidates ideally will be qualified in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, and have some experience of working within the water industry would be beneficial. The successful candidate would be predominantly site based in the Wessex Water region, with a requirement to attend our Southampton Head Office or our new Swindon Office, when required. Options for hybrid working are open to discussion. Role & Responsibilities: Collaborate with all stakeholders and engage with regular communications Attend internal and external meetings Collaborate with internal and external design teams with input to design and constructability Supervision and recording of survey work Responsible for the development and management of project procurement schedules Aid with the submission of material enquires and the review of quotations Placement of material orders Ensure that site installation works and its quality match both design, client and industry standards Production of redline drawings Production and management of handover documentation Assist with the development of Risk Assessments and Method Statements Employ a high level of Health and Safety across all aspects of site works Qualifications/Competency: Degree or HND/HNC in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering OR by experience ECS/CSCS card SSSTS First Aid Experience of working within the water industry or related industries Working Knowledge of Health, Safety and Environment Having an understanding of Quality Assurance Proficient in Microsoft Office About Trant: Trant Engineering Ltd has a long history of engineering and construction excellence, delivering high quality EPC engineering and construction services throughout the UK and overseas. The Role: We are currently recruiting for Electrical Design Engineers of all levels to join our in-house design team that is based in Southampton. We are a friendly and professional multi-disciplined team, responsible for the design management of a variety projects across the water & energy sectors. We are keen to receive applications from individuals with experience of working within the water and/or waste water sector. Hybrid working is available, with an expectation of being in the office 2/3 days per week and client/site visits as and when required. Reporting to the Electrical Design Manager, individuals will be responsible for managing all aspects of electrical design, including: Responsible for management of project specific design deliverables Carrying out design in accordance with M&E Design QA procedures Responsible for the detailed design in accordance with the company procedures Interpreting and understanding client requirements from client documents (drawings, specifications, correspondence, etc.) Communication with client, external design resources and subcontractors to ensure compliance with specification Site surveys of existing assets Optioneering and feasibility studies Assisting with tender pricing Production of procurement specifications for electrical equipment and production of detailed design construction drawings Project managing third party designs and providing design assistance to installation and commissioning teams Review of vendors controls system Functional design Specifications for compliance with our requirements Review of vendor data and drawings for all electrical equipment and package plant, motor control centres, power distribution panels and field equipment panels Management of internal and external project specific design costs in liaison with the Project Manager Undertaking and checking of design calculations including modelling of the complete power system (AMTECH) Preparation of drawings for CAD production, in accordance with the company QA procedures Assist in the development of process control philosophies with the Process Engineer and suppliers Production of URS documentation Production of electrical scope and works enquiry submission documents Estimation of material and labour costs Undertake design risk assessments to support detailed design proposals Responsible for preparing detailed electrical specifications Responsible for the production of single line and block cable diagrams, load schedules, equipment specifications, cable schedules, equipment schedules, telemetry schedules, instrument schedules and I/O listings Record and document all design changes through to completion and issue of As Built documents Liaise with clients and subcontractors Qualifications/background: An appropriate electrical qualification or by experience Chartered membership of a relevant professional institution is an advantage but not essential The Company: Trant Engineering Ltd has a long history of engineering and construction excellence, delivering high quality EPC engineering and construction services throughout the UK and overseas. QUANTITY SURVEYOR OXFORDSHIRE Our energy division is growing again, and we are recruiting for a Senior QS with NEC4 experience, to join the team. The first project would be to deliver a large civil engineering contract in Oxfordshire. Works comprise of RC structures, roads, drainage, paving, steel frame and exterior cladding. This role would be site based, reporting to a Managing QS and we are open to receiving applications from individuals seeking either permanent employment or contract work.
