About the Role : We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager to oversee the construction of a nuclear building project. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction management, particularly within the nuclear industry, and possess exceptional leadership and organisational skills. Experience delivering Instrumentation and control systems is essential. Key Responsibilities : Project Planning and Execution : Develop and implement detailed project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation. Team Management : Lead and coordinate a multidisciplinary team of contractors, subcontractors, and construction workers to ensure project milestones are met. Safety Compliance : Ensure all construction activities adhere to nuclear safety regulations and industry standards. Quality Control : Monitor construction processes to ensure high-quality standards and compliance with project specifications. Risk Management : Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize project disruptions. Stakeholder Communication : Liaise with clients, regulatory bodies, and internal project teams to provide regular updates on project progress. Budget Management : have an awareness of project budgets, ensuring cost-effective solutions and resource optimization. Documentation : Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including progress reports, safety records, and compliance certificates. Qualifications : Education : Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent) in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field Experience : Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction management, with a focus on nuclear projects and M&E systems. Certifications : Relevant certifications in project management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) and nuclear safety standards Skills : Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills; proficiency in project management software. About the Role: We are looking for Project Managers with experience in completing complex construction projects to join our defence sector, which includes a contract at a facility near Reading. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management, particularly within the nuclear industry, and possess exceptional leadership and organisational skills. xperience in delivering Instrumentation and Control Systems is essential. Key Responsibilities: Leading the operational management and delivery of projects. Building relationships with key stakeholders (Client, Contractors, project delivery functions) and maintaining regular communication. Leading key packages of site works. Ensuring nuclear safety and quality requirements are achieved to the highest standard. Performing against a tight schedule and budget through effective management of deliverables, quality requirements, risk, and opportunity management. Creating an inclusive environment, leading, and motivating others to achieve and deliver successful project outcomes. Managing and supporting others in implementation and application of project controls and commercial management (NEC3 & 4). Ensure that key deliverables within each stage of the project are being achieved to the highest standard on a consistent basis. About you: Educated to Degree level (or equivalent) in a related field and have certifications in project management (e.g. APM, PMP, PRINCE2 etc.) Experience in delivering large scale and complex construction projects. Minimum of 5yrs experience in Project Management and working in a highly regulated environment. Experience in leading multi contractor and multi-disciplined teams. Demonstrable stakeholder management skills. The ability to thrive in pressure situations is essential. Westlakes Recruit are currently recruiting for an Electrical Commissioning Engineer interested in opportunities on a contract basis, to be located in Whitehaven Key Responsibilities Plan, coordinate, and carry out commissioning of electrical systems and equipment. Review electrical designs, schematics, and specifications to develop test and inspection plans. Perform functional, insulation, and performance testing of electrical panels, distribution boards, and control systems. Identify, diagnose, and resolve electrical and control system issues in collaboration with project and design teams. Record and maintain detailed commissioning data, test results, and handover documentation. Ensure compliance with electrical standards (BS 7671, IET Regulations) and company quality and safety procedures. Support system integration, final acceptance, and continuous improvement activities. Qualifications & Skills Degree or HNC/HND in Electrical or Electronic Engineering (or equivalent). Demonstrable experience in commissioning or installation of electrical or control systems. Strong understanding of electrical drawings, schematics, and testing methodologies. Familiarity with LV distribution, control panels, and instrumentation systems. Excellent analytical, communication, and organisational skills. ECS / CSCS card and 18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations certification desirable. Full UK driving licence and willingness to work on site when required.
