A respected regional building contractor with a rich pedigree of delivering hi-tech new build projects across central and southern England have identified a need for either an Assistant or Intermediate Quantity Surveyor. Their portfolio includes work within commercial builds, car showrooms, retail, pharmaceutical and care homes, projects generally range in value from £1million to £5million. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following: - Preparing Tender and Contract documents - Preparing Bills of Quantities - Risk Management and Cost Control - Sub Contractor Work Allocation - Preparing Accurate Progress Reports - Completed Work Valuations and Payments Key Experience and Requirements: - Ideally 3+ Years Quantity Surveying experience - You will have experience of previously working within the same or similar role. - Degree qualified (or moving towards professional membership) is preferable but not essential. - Traditional new build and Design & Build exposure would be beneficial. - Excellent communication/ team work capability. - Computer literacy will also be essential. - The role will be reporting to the commercial director. A recognised shopfitting retail contractor based in the Southampton region has secured a number of food retail frameworks covering projects across the UK and Channel Islands. Due to the nature of these accounts, they have decided to take on an experienced Contracts Manager ideally with a proven track record in food retail sector with clients which include Tesco's, Coop's and One Stop's including industrial units, commercial fit outs and restaurants. Duties; Manage a large retail food account by firstly meeting the client and understanding their needs. Taking a project specification brief. Liaising with the estimator and design team back at their office. After securing the work, project managing the fit out stage and new build works for each project. Co-ordinate for materials on site. Placing sub-contractors orders. Collating relevant Health and Safety files. Costing minor projects to a clients specification. Managing a team working within the budget given on each individual project and project managing a number of projects running simultaneously in the food retail sector typically across the south of England and Channel Islands. One of our long standing window and doors contractor clients based on the border of Hampshire and Wiltshire is seeking a full time Installation Manager to take on responsibility on a number of domestic installations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring efficient installations on all domestic properties, maintaining quality standards, optimising processes, managing up to 5 teams installations teams, ensuring that health and safety regulations are met. Key Responsibilities: Oversee daily operations to ensure all installation targets are met. Monitor workflow, identify bottlenecks and implement solutions for continuous improvement. Work closely with the Quality Assurance team to resolve any non-conformities and implement corrective actions. Manage, train, and mentor a team of supervisors, team leaders and operators. Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement. Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations. Preferred Attributes: Previously an Installation Manager or similar. Need to be very agile minded and have a real process improvement approach. Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Strategic thinker with a strong focus on operational excellence. Strong understanding of regulatory and compliance standards within the building products industry. Understands end to end operations and has a passion for customers. Proven leadership skill sets. Being a good middle manager, getting people working together. Able to deal with conflict and agree to engage in a culture based on loyalty. My client is the leading medium sized build contractor based in Hampshire; they specialise in a mix of traditional build and D&B projects typically from £1.5 million to over £20 million in value. Their "main works" projects range from commercial builds, healthcare, education, retail and social housing. Their "special works" division concentrate on projects under £1.5 million typically renovations and listed builds. They have won a number of RIBA and RICS awards for the quality of their projects. They have a strong staff retention rate with a number of employees having worked there for ten years or more. My client actively encourages career development and promotion from within and prides itself on their award winning training programmes. Due to a recent restructure my client now requires a full time BUILD QS to join their award winning commercial team. Role: Projects will be covering projects across the south coast. Responsibilities: Measurement, pricing and evaluation of tenders Take responsibility of projects from contract award through to final account agreement Cost management CVR reporting and forecasting Reporting progress to senior management Management and administration of sub-contractor accounts Producing and submitting applications for payment Agreement of final accounts and completion of required client documentation to facilitate client approval Knowledge / Experience: Professional Qualification (e.g. HNC/HND/Degree/Diploma) or equivalent Previous experience of Construction DESIGN & BUILD projects a distinct advantage Extensive experience in commercial management and procurement of subcontractors Ability to demonstrate a good knowledge of monthly reporting Excellent team player whilst also holding the ability to work independently on own initiative. My client is looking for 2 experienced Groundworkers to work on a new build construction in Hungerford in Berkshire to start from the 21st September 2026. Works will include but not limited to, drainage, services, piplaying, concreting, road formations, kerb laying, footings, foundations, concrete beams and all other associated duties as and when required. General Labourer required to work on a new build construction site in Ivybridge in Devon from 28th September - July 2027. Duties will include sweeping up rubbish, storing materials, unloading wagons and helping with deliveries, litter picking and lifting and shifting materials and all other associated tasks as requested by the Site Manager.
