Maintenance Plumber - Social Housing Location: Loughborough / Leicestershire Pay: £20.00 PAYE per hour Hours: 37 hours per week Contract: Initial 12-week contract Start Date: 31 August 2026 IR35: Inside IR35 Opportunity: Potential extension or permanent opportunity Working Hours Monday to Thursday: 8:00am - 4:00pm Friday: 8:00am - 3:30pm Maintenance Plumber - Housing Repairs VNA Recruitment is currently recruiting for an experienced Maintenance Plumber to join a busy repairs and maintenance team within a large housing organisation covering Loughborough and the wider Leicestershire area. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Plumber with experience in reactive repairs, property maintenance or social housing who is looking for consistent full-time work. You will be carrying out day-to-day plumbing repairs across occupied and vacant residential properties, diagnosing faults and completing repairs to a high standard. As you will regularly be working in residents' homes, we are looking for someone who combines strong practical plumbing skills with a professional, respectful and customer-focused approach. There is also potential for the contract to be extended or for the position to become permanent . The Role As a Maintenance Plumber, your responsibilities will include: Carrying out reactive plumbing repairs across residential properties Attending occupied and vacant homes throughout the local area Diagnosing plumbing faults and identifying the appropriate repair Completing day-to-day plumbing maintenance and remedial works Repairing and replacing plumbing fixtures and fittings as required Responding efficiently to maintenance requests and repair jobs Ensuring repairs are completed correctly and to a high standard Working across multiple properties as part of a busy repairs service Identifying any additional maintenance issues during property visits Working closely with the wider repairs and maintenance team Maintaining high standards of Health & Safety Keeping residents informed about works being carried out Providing a professional and respectful service within residents' homes Ensuring properties and work areas are left clean and tidy following repairs About You To be considered for this position, you should have: Strong practical plumbing experience Previous experience carrying out reactive repairs and maintenance A recognised plumbing qualification or significant relevant industry experience Good plumbing fault-finding and diagnostic skills Ability to identify appropriate repairs and complete them efficiently Strong practical problem-solving ability Pride in the quality and finish of your work Ability to work independently and manage your daily workload Reliability and a strong work ethic Good communication and customer service skills Ability to work professionally within occupied residential properties Ability to work effectively as part of a busy repairs and maintenance team Desirable Experience The following would be particularly beneficial: Previous social housing experience Housing association or local authority repairs experience Residential property maintenance experience Experience working in both occupied and void properties Multi-trade maintenance experience Why Apply? £20.00 PAYE per hour 37 hours per week Monday to Friday working Early finish on Fridays Consistent full-time hours Initial 12-week contract Potential contract extension Potential permanent opportunity Varied reactive plumbing and maintenance workload Work within a large housing organisation Opportunity to work across residential properties throughout Leicestershire August 2026 start This opportunity would suit an experienced Maintenance Plumber, Plumber, Social Housing Plumber, Repairs Plumber, Multi-Skilled Plumber or Plumbing Maintenance Operative with a strong background in reactive property repairs.
