Caretaker Location: Sheerness Contract: Temporary Start Date: Immediate Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday Pay Rate: 15- 20 per hour We are currently recruiting for a Temporary Caretaker to join our clients team on an immediate-start basis. This is a varied role suited to someone who is practical, reliable and takes pride in maintaining a safe, clean and well-presented environment. Key Responsibilities Carry out opening and closing (unlocking/locking up) duties on a shift basis. Undertake general caretaking and estates duties across the site. Carry out routine checks of buildings and facilities. Report any maintenance issues, damage or health and safety concerns. Assist with setting up and clearing areas as required. Ensure the premises are secure and ready for use. Support contractors and maintenance teams when required. Help maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment. About You We are looking for someone who is: Reliable, punctual and trustworthy. Practical and confident carrying out general caretaking duties. Able to work independently and use initiative. Flexible and willing to work on a shift basis. Professional and approachable. Comfortable with opening and securing premises. Requirements Enhanced DBS required Previous caretaking, estates, facilities or maintenance experience Availability for an immediate start. Flexibility to work the required opening/closing shifts between 9am and 8pm The role is subject to Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks. Job title: SHEQ Manager Location : Chatham Salary: 45,000 Hours : Monday to Friday, 39 hours per week The role: We are looking for a proactive, practical and confident SHEQ Manager to play a key role in improving standards across the site. You will be responsible for strengthening quality, health & safety, environmental and compliance processes, while working closely with teams across the business to drive continuous improvement. Lead internal and external audits. Manage customer complaints, NCRs and corrective actions. Drive reductions in defects, reworks and customer returns. Manage risk assessments, SSOW and accident investigations. Oversee contractor management and inductions. Drive employee engagement. Support the future development of the EMS. Champion workplace standards and best practices. Support 5S and operational excellence initiatives. Experience and skills required: Previous experience in a SHEQ, HSEQ or Compliance leadership role. Experience within a manufacturing, engineering or industrial environment. Strong knowledge of ISO 9001. Good working knowledge of health & safety compliance and legislation. Strong organisational and communication skills. Wants to make a genuine difference within a growing business. Passionate about building and improving systems. Confident challenging poor standards in a constructive way. Desirable NEBOSH qualification Internal or Lead Auditor qualification. Experience with ISO 14001 and/or ISO 45001. This is a hands-on, improvement-focused role, with regular time spent on the shop floor.
