Design Manager Construction Location: Surrey Job type: Permanent Unite People are recruiting a Design Manager to oversee design coordination on a major construction project in Surrey. Working closely with the project delivery team, consultants and subcontractors, you will manage the design process to ensure information is coordinated, buildable and issued in line with the construction programme. Key responsibilities: Manage and coordinate architectural, structural, civil and M&E design information. Lead design meetings and track actions through to completion. Review designs for buildability, compliance and potential clashes. Manage design programmes, technical submissions, RFIs and approvals. Coordinate specialist subcontractor designs with the wider scheme. Identify design risks and resolve technical issues with the project team. Monitor design changes and their impact on cost and programme. Requirements: Previous experience as a Design Manager within construction. Strong understanding of multidisciplinary design coordination. Experience working closely with site teams, external consultants and specialist subcontractors. Ability to manage competing deadlines and drive timely design decisions. Relevant construction, engineering or architectural qualification, or equivalent experience. Unite People are recruiting an experienced General Foreman for a six-month civil engineering contract. You will oversee day-to-day site operations, with a focus on earthworks and piling, ensuring works are delivered safely, to specification and in line with the programme. Key responsibilities: Supervise earthworks and piling activities, coordinating labour, plant and subcontractors. Plan daily works and manage interfaces between earthworks teams and piling contractors. Monitor progress, quality and productivity, reporting to the site management team. Ensure works comply with drawings, specifications, RAMS and site safety procedures. Deliver daily briefings and toolbox talks. Maintain site records and identify issues that could affect delivery. Requirements: Previous experience as a General Foreman on civil engineering projects. Proven experience overseeing earthworks and piling operations. Strong understanding of plant movements, site logistics and safe working practices. Ability to lead site teams and coordinate specialist subcontractors. Job Title - Site Supervisor / Foreman Duration - 3 months Location - Portsmouth Rate - (Apply online only) per day My client are looking for a Site Supervisor / Foreman for a new civils project in Portsmouth You will be delivering briefings and managing gangs on site who are working on groundworks, excavations, pipe laying and piling works Tickets required - CSCS Gold Card, SSSTS, 1st Aid and Safety Critical Medical as a minimum. If you have SMSTS or other tickets this is a benefit but not essential to the role.
