Senior / Site Manager Bishop Auckland Wastewater Treatment Works Permanent 65,000 - 75,000 + Package Location: Bishop Auckland, County Durham We're recruiting for an experienced Senior / Site Manager to join a major wastewater treatment project at Bishop Auckland Wastewater Treatment Works, with works due to commence in August. This is an excellent opportunity to join a long-term water infrastructure scheme, taking ownership of site delivery from the early stages of the project through to commissioning. The Role You'll be responsible for managing the day-to-day delivery of the project, ensuring works are completed safely, on programme, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Working closely with the client and delivery teams, you'll play a key role in driving the project through every stage of its lifecycle. Key Responsibilities Manage the full project lifecycle from Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) and design through to construction and commissioning. Develop robust project plans, defining scope, technical requirements, and delivery strategies. Lead site teams, engineers, subcontractors, and supply chain partners. Manage reinforced concrete, shaft sinking, and complex civil engineering activities. Control project budgets, monitor costs, and produce accurate forecasts. Administer NEC4 contracts, managing variations, compensation events, and change control. Identify and mitigate project risks while maintaining programme milestones. Ensure full compliance with health & safety, environmental legislation, and UK water industry regulations. Act as the key point of contact between the client, contractors, regulatory bodies, and stakeholders. Carry out site inspections and quality checks to ensure works are delivered to specification. Maintain strong working relationships with Costain , ensuring all delivery aligns with their procedures and project standards. About You We're looking to speak with candidates who have: Proven experience as a Senior Site Manager or Site Manager within the water or heavy civil engineering sector. Previous experience delivering wastewater treatment works or major water infrastructure projects. Strong background in reinforced concrete works and shaft sinking . Experience working within a Northumbrian Water environment. Good working knowledge of NEC contracts , project planning, and commercial management. Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop site teams. A proactive approach to problem solving, risk management, and project delivery. SMSTS, CSCS, and First Aid qualifications (preferred).
