: Construction Labourer Location: Aylesbury Salary: OTE (£30,000 - £40,000) Overview: First Military Recruitment are currently seeking an Installation Fitter on behalf of one of our clients.Our client encourages applications from ex-military personnel however all candidates will be given due consideration. Duties and Responsibilities: Work sites are predominantly based on highways (trunk roads and motorways) structures ie bridges. The works are carried out predominantly at night time, because road closures are generally only available during night time hours. Night shifts between 19:00 and 05:00 (varies depending on location and job requirements). Day shifts between 07:30 and 15:30. The works predominantly involve the maintenance and replacement of bridge expansion joints. The works are NOT seasonal and are all year round. Night time shifts are not exclusively available and when required, day time shifts will be completed in the office/warehouse facility. Use of stihl saws on concrete, steel and asphalt road surfaces. Use of pneumatic breakers on concrete and/or asphalt. Use of bitumen boilers and mechanical mixers. Rebar fixing and shuttering. Manual handling of materials. Operation of diesel/petrol generators and power tools. Maintain tooling as directed. Keep all vehicles clean, serviceable and report defects to supervisor. Attend all training and inductions as set by management. Maintain a safe and tidy working area. Carry out task as set at daily brief by supervisor. Account for all tooling and clear site at the end of shift. Subject to random/for cause drug and alcohol testing. Subject to Occupational Health assessments. Skills and Qualifications: CSCS card. (Preferable) Fire extinguisher user training. (Preferable) Asbestos awareness. (Preferable) Face fit training. (Preferable) CAT and Genny. (Preferable) Abrasive wheels. (Preferable) Forklift licence. (Preferable) Full UK driving licence with BE certification. (Preferable) Training and familiarising for company specific products shall be given. All PPE will be provided as necessary. Duties and Responsibilities: Control the cost management for project and provide financial reporting regularly. Understand the contractual requirements of project documents including the roles and responsibilities of all involved and the notices required to record change etc. Ensure all required notices are issued in a timely manner. Ensure that the financial position of a construction project is reported accurately and controlled effectively and is maintained throughout. Play a key role in guiding and developing all project staff on commercial issues. Undertake all responsibilities in line with company policies and IMS procedures. This includes adhering to the Code of Conduct, Contract Performance Procedure, Project Review Management Guidelines, Risk and Opportunity Management Guidelines, Design Management Guidelines. Skills and Qualifications: Experience of working on medium to large sized projects of value in excess of £25 million. Have relevant experience of running significant multiple subcontract packages of value £1 million to £20 million. Previous experience on DIO/MOD projects working through PCSA and Construction stages, successfully converting and delivering on time and to budget.
