Chartered Structural Engineer Location: Kent, with projects across London, Essex and Kent Salary: 55,000 - 70,000 Contract: Permanent, Full-Time An established and growing structural engineering consultancy is looking to recruit a Chartered Structural Engineer to join its expanding team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer to take ownership of a varied project portfolio, lead structural design work from concept through to completion, and contribute to the development of a growing consultancy, with a clear progression pathway towards Associate Director level. Key Responsibilities: Deliver structural design and calculations across a range of materials, including steel, reinforced concrete, masonry and timber. Manage projects from initial feasibility and concept design through to construction. Undertake structural assessments, building surveys and inspections of existing structures. Use structural analysis and design software to develop safe, compliant and cost-effective engineering solutions. Prepare and review technical reports, drawings, specifications and design documentation. Liaise with clients, architects, contractors, local authorities and other design professionals. Manage project programmes, budgets and technical deliverables. Check the work of graduate engineers and technicians, providing technical guidance and mentoring. Ensure compliance with relevant British Standards, Eurocodes and CDM 2015 requirements. Essential Requirements: BEng or MEng in Civil or Structural Engineering, or equivalent. Chartered Member of the Institution of Structural Engineers (MIStructE). Chartered Engineer (CEng) registration with the Engineering Council. At least five years' post-graduate experience in structural engineering design within a UK consultancy. Proven ability to manage projects independently from inception through to completion. Strong knowledge of structural analysis, design calculations, Eurocodes and UK National Annexes. Experience reviewing and checking other engineers' work. Confident communication skills and experience dealing directly with clients. Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for regular site visits. Existing right to work in the UK. Experience with temporary works, drainage design, SuDS, BIM/Revit or Party Wall matters would be advantageous. What's on Offer? Competitive salary, dependent on experience. Chartered Building Surveyor (MRICS) Location: Kent, with projects across London, Kent and Essex Salary: 60,000 Contract: Permanent, Full-Time An established and growing multidisciplinary engineering consultancy is looking to recruit a Chartered Building Surveyor to join its expanding team. This is an excellent opportunity for an MRICS-qualified Building Surveyor to work across a varied portfolio of residential, commercial and mixed-use properties, delivering building surveying services while helping to develop and grow the consultancy's surveying offering. Key Responsibilities: Undertake building condition surveys, residential surveys and pre-acquisition inspections. Investigate and diagnose building defects, including damp, water ingress, cracking, roof defects and timber decay. Prepare detailed technical reports, repair specifications and schedules of work. Deliver dilapidations services, including schedules, quantified demands and support with negotiations. Advise clients on building condition, maintenance, refurbishment and statutory compliance. Prepare planned preventative maintenance plans and lifecycle cost assessments. Liaise with clients, landlords, tenants, developers, architects and contractors. Manage projects, client relationships, fee proposals and technical deliverables. Identify opportunities to develop client relationships and support business growth. Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior surveyors and APC candidates. Essential Requirements: Chartered Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS), through the Building Surveying pathway. Degree in Building Surveying or an RICS-accredited equivalent. Minimum three years' post-qualification experience within a consultancy environment. Proven experience in building surveys, defect diagnosis and dilapidations. Good working knowledge of Building Regulations and CDM 2015. Strong technical report-writing and client communication skills. Ability to manage a varied workload and deliver projects independently. Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across London, Kent and Essex. Experience with the Building Safety Act, cladding remediation, EWS1 assessments, reinstatement cost assessments or APC supervision would be advantageous. What's on Offer?
