Recruit Build is working with a growing Yorkshire housebuilder to recruit a Design Engineer to join its expanding Technical team based in Pontefract. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Civil or Infrastructure Design Engineer looking to move into, or further develop their career within residential development. You'll play a key role in delivering engineering solutions from initial land appraisal through to completed housing developments, working closely with the wider Technical, Land and Construction teams. The Role As Design Engineer, you'll be responsible for the design and coordination of engineering infrastructure across multiple residential developments, ensuring schemes are technically compliant, commercially viable and delivered on programme. Your responsibilities will include: Producing detailed engineering designs for residential developments using AutoCAD, Civil 3D and Site3D. Designing highways, drainage, earthworks and levels in accordance with current design standards. Preparing technical drawings and supporting engineering information for planning and construction. Assisting with site feasibility studies, land appraisals and identifying engineering constraints. Liaising with Local Authorities, Water Authorities, utility providers and statutory bodies. Supporting Section 38, Section 278 and Section 104 technical submissions. Coordinating engineering information with external consultants and the wider Technical team. Working closely with Land, Planning, Commercial and Construction teams to ensure projects progress efficiently from acquisition through to completion. Identifying opportunities for value engineering and continuous improvement. About You We're keen to hear from Design Engineers with experience in residential development, infrastructure or civil engineering. Ideally you'll have: Experience producing engineering designs using AutoCAD, Civil 3D and Site3D. A good understanding of highways, drainage, levels and infrastructure design. Experience working on residential or development-led projects. Knowledge of UK design standards and approval processes. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams. HNC, HND or Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
