We are currently delivering projects across multiple sectors in the South West and we are looking for someone to work out of our Exeter office/ on-site at least 4 days per week and you will be supported to work from home 1 day per week. As a Design Manager you will be responsible for the development and control of design on one or more projects. You will identify where we can add extra value for our customers whilst ensuring buildability and quality that meet statutory requirements. The successful candidate will collaborate with project stakeholders, including architects, engineers, contractors, and customers, to establish project requirements, objectives, and design criteria. You will also share your knowledge with other members of the design team as well as operational and commercial teams to ensure the overall success of the project. Duties / responsibilities will include: Managing the design phase of construction projects from concept development to construction documentation, ensuring compliance with project objectives, codes, regulations, and standards, for example, fire, planning and building control, among others. Contributing to the selection and appointment of design partners, ensuring design responsibilities are correctly apportioned between them and the supply chain partners delivering the Contractor's Design Portion. Participating in the selection and procurement of design solutions including modern methods of construction (MMC), materials, finishes, sustainable technology, ensuring they align with project specifications, budgets, and timelines with the wider project team. Arranging and preparing for design reviews to assess progress, to identify potential risks or deviations, and implement corrective measures as necessary. Collaborating with architects, engineers, and other design professionals to develop comprehensive design plans, drawings, and specifications and work with the design manager to ensure that they accurately represent project requirements. Coordinating and managing external design consultants, reviewing and providing feedback on their work to ensure design integrity, consistency and quality The ideal candidate: Will have managed design on projects between 10M- 100M across multiple sectors. Senior Estimator We're looking for a Senior Estimator to join our growing Willmott Dixon Interiors team in London, with hybrid working available (three days office-based and two days working from home). This is a key role within our expanding Cat B workplace fit-out capability, focused on delivering competitive, accurate and commercially robust pricing for single-stage tenders across projects typically ranging from 5m to 50m. Senior Quantity Surveyor We are currently looking to recruit a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our highly regarded Construction Midlands division, working on mid to large-scale commercial construction projects in Birmingham and the surrounding region. As the successful candidate, you will take ownership of commercial delivery across various projects from feasibility to completion. You will need strong contractual knowledge to provide commercial control of work packages throughout the project lifecycle whilst reporting accurately. Proposals Manager (Bid Manager) Willmott Dixon Construction are looking for a Proposals Manager to join our Wales & West regional team in our Bristol office. The main role of a Proposals Manager at Willmott Dixon is to manage the quality of submissions and actively work with our Project Managers to develop the quality of bids. You will be able to assess technical bid requirements and lead the bid teams to develop a winning solution. You will ensure the formal bid process is followed, providing recommendations for continuous improvement. Through your writing, reviewing and editing of drafts you will ensure our submissions persuasively convey our offer to the customer by communicating key win themes within our responses, ensuring we score highly against the evaluation criteria. Working with subject matter experts, you will conceptualise and create visual elements to help tell the story, whilst also contributing to the 'look and the feel' of our offering. With a strong awareness of bidding best practice, you will also provide guidance and support to less experienced staff and those from other areas of the business. Experience of hosting lessons learnt workshops after bid submissions to capture insight, identify areas for improvement and inform future opportunities. We have an excellent opportunity for a Building Services Manager (M&E) to join our Bristol office and provide support for our projects in the South West region. The successful Building Services Manager will lead and coordinate the MEP process from project inception through to post-completion using commercial, contractual, programme/time awareness and technical expertise. Reporting to the Head of Building Services, you will work alongside our preconstruction and delivery teams to carry out technical reviews of tender documents, liaise with the estimating team and supply chain partners and adjust designs accordingly as and when required. This is an exciting role that could see you working on several projects at a time across preconstruction and delivery. You will be responsible for producing, prioritising and reviewing accurate information in line with the agreed specification and project cost. Support the operations teams in the delivery of M&E systems once the package has been handed over from the preconstruction team. Leading the commissioning phase, ensuring it is delivered correctly with the use of the supply chains commissioning management or independent commissioning managers. Undertake witnessing and signing off the systems as complete on behalf of WDC. An experienced Site Manager with an internal or finishing trade background is required by Willmott Dixon to initially work on an 82m new build scheme before moving onto other projects in the Coventry area thereafter. Reporting to the Construction Manager the successful candidate will manage the delivery of projects safely, on time, within budget and to the highest quality. Building Services Manager (M&E Manager) We have an exciting opportunity to recruit a M&E Building Services Manager to join our Construction Midlands team. You will provide support to our business through Preconstruction, Design, and Operational Delivery. You will be required to work providing a support service to our projects in the Midlands. This is an exciting role which will see you working across several projects simultaneously and also be the go-to MEP expert for your projects. Responsibilities Lead the Pre Construction activities for MEP packages during the Preconstruction Phase, with input/assistance to the Project Team to provide a compliant scheme, that is commercially robust and viable. Providing support to our Operational Teams. Visiting sites during construction as required. Reviewing the MEP installations for compliance against the designs, contract requirements, relevant standards/regulation and our quality requirements. Assisting the site teams with any technical queries finding solutions to challenges. Supporting to develop installation and commissioning programmes. Maintaining and developing relationships with our MEP Supply Chain. Attending and leading M&E discussions within Design Team Meetings, Customer Meetings, progress and commissioning meetings. Leading the commissioning phase, ensuring it is delivered correctly with the use of the supply chains commissioning management or independent commissioning managers. Undertake witnessing and signing off the systems as complete on behalf of WDC. Supporting commercial teams. Maintain lessons learnt into the business and Preconstruction Teams. Maintain the feedback loop into Preconstruction Teams on Supply Chain performance. Collaboration Collaborate with the wider business in relation to MEP services as well as across our supply chain. Actively support the building services department to deliver on their strategic aims. Mentor junior members of the team and support them to achieve their agreed goals and targets where required. Provide assistance to the quality & customer care team and find resolution to any emerging issues. Essential and Desirable Criteria Essential Criteria: Appropriate CSCS card. Valid driving licence. Appropriate managerial experience in the services sector. Experience of undertaking a BSM role or supervisory role in an M&E discipline for Operational Delivery. Understanding of all relevant M&E and services legislation. Commercial acumen. Proficient use of and Microsoft suite of Office programmes; inc. Excel, Word, Outlook. Experience on a variety of M&E projects in a wide range of sectors. Minimum relevant level 4 qualification (HNC / NVQ4 etc). Desirable Criteria: Relevant Degree or Equivalent Qualification.
