With this role, I'm looking for a Leeds area based, Principal Electrical Engineer who has a different focus from the usual new build and refurb schemes. This position is all about asset management and improvement within a specialist team in one of the UK's top design consultancies. Based in Leeds, you will be in a highly client focused position liaising with building owners, property portfolio managers and building users directly. As you would expect, you'll spend a fair amount time on site carrying out surveys, project managing works and discussing options with stakeholders; it's a fantastically varied role where you won't be restricted to a certain portfolio or client base. Location wise, you'll be looking after buildings typically within a two hour radius of Leeds. While a car isn't part of the package, you won't necessarily want one; the majority of sites are easily reached by train, and the company actively seeks to minimise its carbon footprint. In terms of background, you may not have worked as an Electrical Design Engineer, but you will need to be comfortable writing reports, creating feasibility studies and producing calculations. In some respects, your ability to understand the original design philosophy and assess how it can be developed to suit the building users, save energy and comply with current building standards is more useful. You'll be joining a company full of electrical designers after all! Any experience of reviewing maintenance and refurbishment contracts will be particularly useful to you, in addition to having carried out pre-acquisition and dilapidation work. In all, this is the perfect Principal Electrical Engineer role if you have done your time as an Electrical Design Engineer, enjoyed working in contracting or the public sector and are keen to focus on buildings in use. The rewards package is substantial; as well as joining a company that is recognised as an industry leader, you will receive the following: Private Medical Scheme 5% Employers pension contribution Life Assurance Working 9 days over 10 25 days annual leave, increasing to 30 with length of service Employee Assistance Programme Tax free childcare Enhanced Paternity, Maternity & Shared Parental Leave Season Ticket Loans Professional membership subscription Flexitime and hybrid working Calibre Search promote equality in the workplace and we welcome applications from all suitably skilled or qualified candidates regardless of their sex, race, disability, religion/beliefs, sexual orientation or age. We act as both an employment agency and employment business.
