REQUIREMENTS
As I mentioned this is a great opportunity to work on one of the UK’s largest highways projects and will run until at least 2020. I should mention that you are going to need experience working on civil structures schemes (Such as bridges or tunnels) as well as a HNC or equivalent in Civil Engineering (or similar) qualification as well as having a strong background (5 years at a minimum) of being Site Engineer working for main contractors.

THE JOB

This framework will see you working on a multitude of projects covering the Thames Water patch working on the UK’s largest water and wastewater network. Every day 2,600 million litres of water supply over 9 million customers in the area with a further 4 billion litres of sewage from 15 million customers being treated.
There are two types of projects you could be working on within this framework; The first; larger projects spanning a 3-month period consisting of groundworks and civils with some supervision of the build as well as electrical installations with responsibility for looking after two work streams and supervising up to eight operatives.
The second; very fast paced projects lasting up to 3 days’ maximum focussing on refurbishment and replacement work supervising up to four operatives a time.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
If you like working for a main contractor on fast paced schemes, then this is the role for you. You’re going to be working closely with the client and key stakeholders so you’re going to have to be the kind of person who enjoys managing and influencing people as well as driving workflows.

The project you will be involved in to begin with is scheduled to be on site for around 12 months with your involvement expected to go beyond that to carry out final accounts and negotiate change etc. The company have a significant volume of projects in the region beyond the next 12-24 months to keep you busy beyond this scheme. The position being based on site, and close to the client office, means that this is an exciting opportunity to sink your teeth into working closely with the site team and being able to agree change on site with the client as it actually happens.

THE ROLE
Key responsibilities and duties for the Site Engineer will include:
Quality: Actively manage this initiative and provide the environment, support and monitoring to continuously promote this ideal at all levels within the Company.
Staff and Operative Development: Assist the team in planning, co-ordinating, maintaining and developing staff and operative levels to effectively undertake current and prospective workloads. Participate and actively encourage both Company training courses and on the job training. Monitor and record individual performances encouraging and managing as and when necessary. Keep abreast of Employment Law and Regulations.
Site Management: Assist the team as required in the initial site set-up, actively installing Company systems and procedures. Rigorously apply effective planning techniques, methods analysis and controls to ensure the most effective and continuous use of Company resources.
Financial Controls: Assist the team by compiling data to maximise cash collection and profitability. Participate in the implementation of strict financial controls on the payment of subcontractors, suppliers and operatives.
Setting Out: Undertake site setting out to satisfy contract programme requirements, delegating or carrying out setting out as necessary. Ensure standard Company procedures are adopted in carrying out setting out operations, and that effective methods of communication are used in transmitting information to operatives and subcontractors.
Communication: Liaise and co-ordinate with all Head Office Departments to improve all levels of communication to benefit and develop overall Company objectives.
Safety: Actively support the Agent in maintaining and enforcing safety standards as required by statute and in accordance with the Company's Safety Policies.
Accountable through the chain of site management for the implementation of the Safety Plan through everyone working under your control. Duties will include:

Implementation of the requirements of the Construction Phase Plan.

Be a prime mover in the instigation of risk assessment.
*
To ensure that site personnel understand the identified risks and implement the safe systems of work to eliminate or reduce the risks.

Ensure that necessary permits are obtained/issued at the correct time.

Ensure by planning and management that suitable and sufficient resources and equipment are available to carry out the work in a manner that will not jeopardise Health and Safety.

ABOUT YOU

You MUST have at least 3 years’ experience working and setting out on similar projects.

Degree qualified (BSc, MSc in Civil/ Structural Engineering)

You MUST have Heavy RC Frame Structure experience and have been involved in the Construction of Bridges! – Although specific Highways experience is not required.

CSCS, SMSTS and First Aid at Work qualifications are also required.

FOR THE ATTENTION of all Site Engineers wishing to become involved in a Key Node on the UK Motorway Network! This work forms part of the Trans European Network (TENT) and provides long term contracts for the foreseeable future! This a truly exciting opportunity!
There are a significant number of BRIDGES, which have to be constructed.
MOST IMPORTANTLY THOUGH: You MUST have Heavy RC Frame Structure experience and have been involved in the Construction of Bridges!
AND ALSO….This is a long term Project and you will need to be a team player happy to fill the role of Site Engineer.

THE ROLE
Key responsibilities and duties for the Site Engineer will include:
Quality: Actively manage this initiative and provide the environment, support and monitoring to continuously promote this ideal at all levels within the Company.
Staff and Operative Development: Assist the team in planning, co-ordinating, maintaining and developing staff and operative levels to effectively undertake current and prospective workloads. Participate and actively encourage both Company training courses and on the job training. Monitor and record individual performances encouraging and managing as and when necessary. Keep abreast of Employment Law and Regulations.
Site Management: Assist the team as required in the initial site set-up, actively installing Company systems and procedures. Rigorously apply effective planning techniques, methods analysis and controls to ensure the most effective and continuous use of Company resources.
Financial Controls: Assist the team by compiling data to maximise cash collection and profitability. Participate in the implementation of strict financial controls on the payment of subcontractors, suppliers and operatives.
Setting Out: Undertake site setting out to satisfy contract programme requirements, delegating or carrying out setting out as necessary. Ensure standard Company procedures are adopted in carrying out setting out operations, and that effective methods of communication are used in transmitting information to operatives and subcontractors.
Communication: Liaise and co-ordinate with all Head Office Departments to improve all levels of communication to benefit and develop overall Company objectives.
Safety: Actively support the Agent in maintaining and enforcing safety standards as required by statute and in accordance with the Company's Safety Policies.
Accountable through the chain of site management for the implementation of the Safety Plan through everyone working under your control. Duties will include:

Implementation of the requirements of the Construction Phase Plan.
*
Be a prime mover in the instigation of risk assessment.
*
To ensure that site personnel understand the identified risks and implement the safe systems of work to eliminate or reduce the risks.
*
Ensure that necessary permits are obtained/issued at the correct time.
*
Ensure by planning and management that suitable and sufficient resources and equipment are available to carry out the work in a manner that will not jeopardise Health and Safety.
*
Ensuring all persons, other than infrequent visitors, receive induction training prior to the issue of their access control passes
ABOUT YOU
This is a fantastic opportunity for experienced Site Engineers!
You MUST have at least 3 years’ experience working and setting out on similar projects.
*
Degree qualified (BSc, MSc in Civil/ Structural Engineering)
*
You MUST have Heavy RC Frame Structure experience and have been involved in the Construction of Bridges! – Although specific Highways experience is not required.
*
CSCS, SMSTS and First Aid at Work qualifications are also required.

Industrial Cleaner – Swadlincote

Our client specialises in the manufacture of a wide range of products for the construction market. With over 20 sites across the UK our client is a multi-billion-pound enterprise who are heavily investing across all sites to meet an ever increasing market demand for their goods. They are now looking to recruit 2 industrial cleaners to start immediately on a long term contract.
The Industrial Cleaner will be responsible for the following.

The factory has a problem with dust extraction on the machines and on the shop floor, you will be in charge of cleaning the plant.
*
This will include wiping down the hand rails, fencing, cleaning out the big conveyor machines of dust and sand.
*
Working with the maintenance engineers you will attend breakdowns whereby you will clean the dust, brick dust and sand in and around the machines.
*
You will be required to use the industrial hoovers and on occasion the folk lift to move around pallets and big items.
*
You will be flagging cleaning issues with maintenance such as the piling up of dust and sand which could potentially cause a machine to break down.
*
You will be patrolling the factory shop floor cleaning the top of kilns and other machines.
*
Eventually you will be trained up on sorting pallets, visually inspecting bricks and helping load kiln cars.
The candidate must possess the following skills to be considered for this role:

Must have FLT counterbalance experience.

Be happy to clean an industrial plant.

Be reliable and a good communicator.
