Reporting structure Reporting to the Regional Service Manager. However, the relationship and rapport with members of the Support Service team and end customers is crucial to assist in the aspiration of 100% customer service satisfaction. Main responsibilities Key Duties: * Carrying out comprehensive safety/maintenance checks of all self powered hire equipment before dispatch/when returned and completing and including all necessary documentation including test certificates and safety instructions * Ability to run diagnostic checks and undertake fault finding * Visiting customer sites, when required, to repair faulty self powered hire equipment and/or carrying out safety/operational demonstrations * Installation and dismantle of hire units and associated equipment * Quick and accurate diagnosis of fault / breakdown * Asking relevant questions to determine the precise fault / issue to complete the job first time. * Liaising with customers / manager / peers / contractors to ensure site work is completed timely and efficiently * Effective repair of hire units and its equipment which may require multi-trade skills capability - including engine repair * Completing PDA / paperwork thoroughly and accurately * Comply with and embrace the Health & Safety culture and policies * Understand and comply with all relevant Company rules, agreements, policies, procedures and with all relevant legislative requirements and codes of practice. * Act in a professional manner, ensure good working relationships are maintained and promote a good image of the Company at all times. * Be aware that the Company operates a Quality Assurance system BS EN ISO 9001 and adhere to the respective procedures. Manual handling and working at height training is also preferable though training can be given * basic/intermediate general construction/maintenance skills * Appreciate LEAN practices within the workplace and embrace change * Served a recognised electrical apprenticeship complete with the AM2 certificate and completed the 2382-12 requirements for electrical installations Additional Information: * Full driving license as travelling long distances is required. * May need to stay overnight occasionally * May be required to participate in an out of hours service rota * Flexibility in working hours is required as may need to start earlier and finish later than normal on occasions. * Has proven experience and ability to work effectively with internal and/or external customers

Manpower Technical is recruiting for an Engineering Assistant on behalf of our client located in Hitchin. The role is an on going Contract, and based within the Energy Sector. Key Accountabilities of this role include: Engineering assistant required to work in a two man team assisting a gas engineer in completing civil works for installation of vessels and pipework. The core hours are 7am-6pm, working out to a 55hr working week Monday - Friday. Overtime and working away from home are expected as and when required and will be paid as additional overtime. Early starts and late finishes in addition to working the core hours will be required in busy periods. The candidate will be working outdoors completing labouring tasks such as excavation, laying pipework, backfilling, completing banks man duties, basic landscaping with the potential to learn technical attributes of the work. Ideally we would like the candidate to have worked in labouring and/or building, other qualifications that would be advantageous would be any plant tickets i.e excavator or dumper, H&S certificates i.e CSCS qualifications, these qualifications would be an advantage but are not required as full training on the job will be provided. PLANT SUPERVISOR CRAWLEY £25,000 Mission & role of the function Reporting to the District Operations Manager, the Plant Supervisor is responsible for the overall control of the site. Main duties include the use of computer based systems for batching and despatch of concrete, talking to customers both face to face and on the phone, carrying out routine maintenance, supervising contractors and hauliers to ensure the safe and efficient running of this site in accordance with the Health & Safety at Work Act and Environmental Legislation. Other key responsibilities include, ensuring that concrete produced, is compliant with our quality scheme and housekeeping standards at the site are maintained. Key accountabilities * To liaise with the Order Office and ensure that production of concrete/mortar meets customers requirements and to give optimum output, quality and standards in accordance with the Procedures Manual, Working instructions and Technical Instructions * To regularly inspect, carry out and ensure that plant routine maintenance is adhered to and that the cleanliness of the plant mechanism, plant area, buildings and equipment are maintained and cleaned in accordance with area and standing instructions * To ensure that all waste disposals, water discharges and dust emissions are dealt with in accordance with the Environmental Procedures laid down * To ensure that sufficient materials are available to meet the demands of production * To inspect in coming materials and to carry out a visual stock check of all materials once a week * To ensure that all employees/contractors and visitors to the plant follow the relevant safety instructions laid down * By constant appraisal and review of work methods and plant utilisation, ensure the best use is made of plant, equipment and materials available * To perform any other relevant duties as requested by Management * To effectively operate the batching plant to the standards required by company policy and to improve & maintain site presentation to company guidelines * To accurately batch concrete/mortar in accordance with the relevant procedures * To ensure that the plant is adequately stocked with approved materials at all times * To visually check stocks on a minimum weekly basis and verify monthly * To carry out routine maintenance and inspection for defects and record actions accordingly * To report any defect, action or occurrence which may jeopardise the operation in any respect of health & safety, the environment, product quality and service * To be familiar with and ensure full compliance with the policies issued on health & safety, the environment, quality control, fraud prevention and the Competition Act (RTP) * To ensure that the site, plant and associated buildings are kept in a clean, tidy and safe condition at all times * To maintain the security of the site, plant and associated buildings at all times * To seek advice from the District Operations Manager on matters outside the scope of a Plant Supervisors authority * To carry out additional duties as may from time to time be necessary * To receive customer enquiries and orders in a polite and courteous manner, maintaining company image to the highest standard Job requirements * To effectively operate the batching plant to the standards required by company policy and to improve & maintain site presentation to company guidelines * To accurately batch concrete/mortar in accordance with the relevant procedures * To ensure that the plant is adequately stocked with approved materials at all times, including additives and fuel.
