I am looking for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor for a repairs and maintenance arm of a Housing Association based in Merseyside. They are looking for a responsible and trustworthy individual who has previous site experience and would be able to support a heavy workload. This is an excellent opportunity to provide on-site support to new build and refurbishment building projects across the North West. The role will be predominantly out of the office, with 3 or 4 days a week being spent on site, although the role is based in St Helens. The successful post holder would be expected to manage sub-contractors on site, process monthly variations, reports and valuations, so previous experience is essential. Previous contractor experience in similar roles is essential, as well as working towards a relevant degree level commercial qualification. I am looking for a Planning Assistant to work in the Development Management service within a Local Authority based in Lancashire. The successful post holder will be covering maternity leave for approximately 7 months. The purpose of the position is to effectively and efficiently process Development work within the team, and will be responsible for determining minor and medium scale planning applications. You will be given the opportunity to manage your own caseload of planning applications and be involved in providing written pre-application advice and follow-up meetings. You should have an appropriate planning-related degree or an equivalent qualification. You should also be able to demonstrate relevant experience within a Development Management environment, which would ideally include some experience of determining planning applications. The post holder will carry out site visits across the District every week and may cover up to 50 miles during any one day, including areas that are not served by public transport.
