The Role: As a Small Tools Fitter you will play a pivotal role in the success of the depot. You will be responsible for servicing and maintaining a variety of small tools within the GAP fleet including 2/4 stroke petrol tools and a range of electrical tools including saws, grinders and drills ensuring that our customers can hire what they want, when they need it. Applicants should have: - A relevant mechanical/electrical qualification (or time served) - Experience in contractors tools - A valid driving licence is preferred but not essential - PAT testing certificate preferred So what next? At GAP we take very seriously the need to train young people to ensure the future prosperity of our industry. We are currently looking for an Apprentice Hire and Sales Coordinator to join our York depot. An apprenticeship with GAP allows individuals to learn, work, earn and become qualified all at the same time. All training and related expenses are covered and you will be paid a salary of £10,000 in your first year if you are over 18 or £9,176 if you are under 18 (due to reduced hours). In total, it takes two years to successfully complete a GAP Apprenticeship. This will lead to the award of NVQ Level 2/3 in Hire Desk Operations. The Depot working hours for a Hire and Sales Coordinators in GAP are Mon - Fri, 0730/(Apply online only)/1700. You will be responsible for providing excellent customer service and processing all paperwork in relation to hiring out equipment. Within GAP, our apprentices go on to become fully qualified Hire and Sales Coordinators, who have in the past progressed to the posts of General Manager of a depot or Area Sales Representative. We are currently looking to recruit a keen and enthusiastic individual with a logical and practical approach. Applicants will have, or be working towards, GCSE Grades C/D or SCE Standard Grades 3 / 4 (or equivalent) in Math and English. So what next?
