Duties:
Our client is leading housing developer with offices and sites nationwide. They are currently experiencing a vast increase in workload, and are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity to join their office in the North East.
The successful candidate will be responsible for a number of developments from site commencement to completion and will manage and report on all financial and contractual aspects.
You may also be required to provide information for land purchase exercises.
Key Activities:
• Calculate all the prime costs (house pricing, labour costs, site work operations and remediation work) on developments, reporting any movements in the costs since the preparation of the land purchase exercise.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Sub Agent to a join a major Infrastructure JV. This is a freelance role and applicants will have previous experience of working on RC structures and/or Roads and Earthworks contracts in excess of £5million.
Responsibilities:
- Management and Supervision of Site Engineers and Foreman and subordinates on site.
- Maintain good working relationship with employers key staff
- Ensure that specification, drawings, contract and sub-contract documents contain sufficient, accurate information of construction of the works to proceed in accordance with the programme and sequence of operations
- Ensure that works are accurately and clearly set out before work is programmed to commence
- Communicate with foremen and gangers to ensure full understanding of information provided
- Confirm in writing and verbal instructions from employer's staff and maintain a comprehensive record of resources employed
- Check works are completed as required by the specification in terms of dimension and quality
- Ensure that company policies for temporary works and safety are complied with and are applied within the section and that works are structurally safe
- Prepare programmes as required in conjunction with the Foremen
- Check weekly that resources are available to meet the programme, in liaison with the Project Manager
- Measure and record weekly the permanent work completed for valuation purposes
- Ensure that additional works and/or variations are notified for inclusion in the monthly valuations and provide comprehensive records
- Measure the work of sub-contractors weekly, control, measure and record work extra to the sub-contracts
- Supervise or execute the routine control of materials, both in quality and quantity
- Supervise or execute the cost system processes relating to input of resources
- Keep a full and accurate daily site diary
- Ensure that proper records are kept and carefully filed
The Individual / Knowledge and Skills required:
As a Sub Agent you will have extensive experience in working on civil engineering projects in a similar role.
Qualifications:
- Ideally HNC/HND/Degree in a civil engineering discipline
- CITB ? 5 Day SMSTS Certificate
- CSCS Supervisors/Managers Card
- Must be a team player but also able to work on own initiative
- Knowledge of safety and environmental legislation
